Job Description

Overview:

The Report Developer designs, modifies, creates, and implements reporting solutions. Additionally, the Report Developer provides specific 3rd tier support for reports. The Report Developer is required to provide weekly status reports to their supervisor in the Information Technology (IT) department.

Responsibilities:

Participates in and is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the report development for business intelligence and Data Warehouse.

Develop, test, document, and implement high quality reports on time that perform according to specifications and requirements documents

Analyze performance of reports and takes action to correct deficiencies

Develop and adhere to development standards that allows for the maintainability of reports in a manner that supports team development

Provide a minimum of weekly status report updates for current projects

Gather report requirements through interaction with customer using any of the following:

Write requirements and design specifications according to approved templates, using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely

Participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements documents and/or Joint

Engineering Design sessions (JED) / Joint Application Development sessions (JAD)

Participate in peer reviews of work products derived from requirements specifications to ensure that the requirements were interpreted correctly

Ensure that proposed reporting solution meets user needs and satisfy business objectives and initiatives

Design and implement reporting solutions with consistent core methodologies, thereby providing consistency across the organization

Advocate for best business practices during all interactions with client and internal / external functions

Works closely with the data warehouse development team lead, customers, business analysts and other colleagues in the ITS department performing: data profiling, design and development, debugging/testing, and support.

Participates in and is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the reports.
