Job description

Overview:

The International Tax Manager will have a broad and deep knowledge of US and multinational tax (with a heavier focus on international) and will assist with the organization's tax planning, tax provision, and compliance. They will be mainly responsible for international tax provision, planning, and compliance and will also assist with US tax projects. The ideal incumbent will possess excellent research, writing and communication skills which are critical to their success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze US and international tax positions and provide written analyses and memos supporting the company's interpretations of various tax laws
  • Stay abreast of US and international tax reform and advise on the impacts of global reform to the organization. Focus on tax research
  • Manage the foreign tax provision process, assist in federal and state tax provision process, including assisting with matters such as GILTI, BEAT, FDII, and unremitted foreign earnings
  • Participate in the oversight of federal income tax returns, legal entity reporting and state tax returns (the entire tax compliance function is outsourced to a Big 4 accounting firm), including reviewing forms, disclosures, and filings, with an emphasis on international reporting
  • Assist in the management of all ongoing tax authorities' examinations of company returns; in particular, the US multinational tax returns, such as Forms 5471, 1118 and 8858 and related audit defense for federal, international, and state
  • Interact with external tax advisors to evaluate, interpret, and implement tax planning initiatives in the US and globally; interact with the company's foreign controllers and CFOs and other leaders to ensure success of transactions
  • Special projects as needed, which may include M&A due diligence and structuring

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, with MST preferred
  • JD or LL.M (Taxation) degree preferred
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of tax experience in federal and international corporate taxation
  • Large public accounting firm experience preferred
  • Experience with international and US tax compliance
  • Experience with ASC 740 required
