Job description

Prepare review and negotiate commercial agreements. Provide legal advice and assistance to corporate departments regarding legal matters and to branches regarding general contracts.

* Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts including, but not limited to, rental, service, purchase, sale and other legal documentation.
* Review RFPs and RFQs and other bid documentation.
* Coordinate and interact with other members of the legal department and company departments (including, but not limited to, Sales, Environmental, Sourcing, Human Resources, Finance, Executive, Facilities, Risk, Safety and Accounting
* Provide legal advice, counseling and service on legal issues concerning the rights, obligations, and privileges of the company under its various contractual matters.

Education

* JD degree from accredited law school required.
* Must be admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction, preferably Connecticut.

Experience

* Minimum 3+ years' experience in a law firm or corporate environment

Other Skills

* Ability to work with several people, to simultaneously handle multiple requests and prioritize.
* Must be a team player and willing to assist in specialized projects including mergers & acquisitions, finance and corporate secretarial matters.
* Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and use of the company's contract management system.
* Good drafting, communication and organization skills.
* Responsive, business-minded and an attention to detail are critical elements.
* Self-starter.
