Key Human Services is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team of professionals in making a positive difference in the lives of our neighbors and the community.
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the following functions for an assigned work group: recruitment, reference and background checks, tracking training records, employment verifications, unemployment compensation hearings/legal matters, reviewing employee evaluations, coaching managers, reviewing and tracking discipline, participating in employee relations meetings, preparing necessary termination paperwork, and assistance with special projects as needed.
Responsibilities Include:
* Handle unemployment compensation hearings/claims
* Approve disciplinary action and evaluations
* Assist in legal matters/hearings
* Handle employee relations matters for assigned areas
* Develop and present skills trainings for managers, such as evaluation writing, managing, coaching, policy review, etc.
* Establish effective recruitment methods, i.e. colleges, web sites, social media, etc.
* Expand agency recruitment efforts to meet the needs of program growth
* Screen and reference check applicants, process background checks
* Forward qualified applicant data to hiring managers
* Perform new employee sign-in process
* Collect required employee paperwork and process completed paperwork
* Coordinate New Employee Orientation classes, i.e. coordinate trainers, set up for scheduled trainings, prepare materials, pick up food as needed, including for SRV, Risking Connections, etc.
* Train new employees on Policies & Procedures, and any additional trainings as necessary during New Employee Orientation
* Assist with administrative duties of the department as necessary to include filing, projects, data entry and compiling data
Position Details:
* Pay rate is $45,000 per year (exempt position)

Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree with minimum of 3 years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
* Computer experience required (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Proficient with HRIS system
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Thorough knowledge of state and federal employment laws
* Competency in most HR disciplines
* Experience in coaching, counseling, conflict management
* Valid drivers' license
