Active safety is a rapidly developing area of automotive engineering, deploying multiple new sensors, subsystems and features to the vehicle. The combination of these sensors provides near and far object detection enabling the implementation of many new safety features into the vehicle - Forward collision warning, collision mitigated braking, lane departure warning to name a few. The ADAS Compute Platform (ACP) Calibration Release Engineer is a key role in developing and maintaining the complex software releases to support SuperCruise and advanced features that will be rolled out on many different programs.
Responsibilities:
Maintain master ADAS Compute Platform SW Part Number Matrix
Collaborates with the Lead Calibration Engineer toassign part numbers to new calibrations before releasing to internal systems (SPR, VeSCoM)
Tracks/directs/verifies all datafile releases to VeSCoM and production
Strategically minimizes calibration proliferation based on program content
Provides VeSCoM timing for Calibration deliveries, working with the broader SW team
Supports Vehicle Controls Integration Team (VCIT) meetings
Supports Design Integration Tests (DITs) for new SW releases
Supports Ride Vehicle updates
Supports root cause of capture test fleet and field issues
Additional Job Description
Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
2+ Years of Overall Engineering Experience or demonstrated proficiency of electrical modules.
2+ Years of Active Safety Experience
2+ Years of Software Release Experience
2+ Years of Vehicle Reflash Experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
High level of Interpersonal skill to work effectively with others including global partners
Demonstrated ability to work independently to solve highly complex problems and lead teams to consensus when needed
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual or difficult
Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
Desired Skills
Knowledge of GM Data File Release Process
Knowledge of GM vehicle reflash tools and processes
Experience with some GM-internal tools: ECR, SPR, vCDM, APM, GM Logic
Automotive development experience
Knowledge of the Vehicle Development Process
Understanding of Bench and Vehicle test methods
