Assistant Commercial Property Manager

Washington, DC


Park Madison Property Management Co. ("PMPM") is a boutique property management company, servicing primarily office and retail assets in multiple US markets, including New York, Boston, Washington, DC, Chicago & Columbus, OH. PMPM currently manages over 2 million square feet of commercial space and will be significantly growing its portfolio over the next 18 months.

The Assistant Property Manager is responsible for assisting the Property Manager in the overall administrative and operational management of a Class A Office Building in Washington, DC.


Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to the following:)

  • Maintain tenant relations. Meet with tenants to ensure expectations are met and issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Assist Property Manager in the preparation of monthly operational and financial statements, monthly operating reports, and assist with other reporting as requested from ownership.
  • Coordinate with engineering staff to ensure successful delivery of building operations.
  • Maintain accurate lease files, property files and vendor files. Review and have strong knowledge of the individual leases and lease provisions in place for each tenant.
  • Conduct and document property inspections.
  • Assist Property Manager with special projects, as necessary. Assist the Engineering Team, Leasing team and the Construction group where applicable.
  • Oversee vendor/contractor communications concerning work scheduling, billings, vendor relations and certificates of insurance.
  • Perform back-up duties to the Property Manager when that individual is not in the office.
  • Work with accounting team on billings, rent statements, monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reporting.
  • Assist with property budgets, including rent rolls, P&L statements, income statements, expense statements and forecasting.

Qualifications/Benefits

  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in commercial real estate management with prior office property experience preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Experience creating and understanding the property budget process from start to finish.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, well organized and work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Salary commensurate with experience ($50,000 - $60,000)
