Job Summary

Conducts quantitative and qualitative data analysis to identify opportunities for improvement that supports strategic goals and meet the functional need of the business unit; develops success measurement metrics and participates in root cause analysis to recommend quality/service enhancements to improve productivity for the business units; uses knowledge of processes and partnership with project team to effectively address the customer's needs and initiates timely action to meet them; identifies process bottlenecks and ensures that initiatives are integrated within time, budget, and resource constraints

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports process improvement initiatives or projects; analyzes current business operations and recommends future state process maps to align with long-term business goals; builds performance reporting by identifying success measures and effective data sources; analyzes data to understand current state and results from process improvements; maps current business processes to provide a foundation for defining business activities with minimal guidance
  • Assists with conducting preliminary assessments of business unit needs supporting the business objectives and goals; conducts data analysis on large data sets to identify historical trends and provide business leaders with actionable insight in process improvement opportunities; recommends development and implementation options to ensure that projects support strategic goals and meet the functional need of the business unit; ensures that initiatives are integrated smoothly into the environment within time, budget, and resource constraints; manages business unit expectations of initiatives and projects
  • Develops tools and creates macros that help automate repetitive or manual tasks; creates specific reporting tools/methods to capture and track critical success factors/business goals on all projects before project implementation; provides/discusses analysis of those reports to management concerning key metrics to include recommendations on how to implement suggested procedural improvements; provides input from the perspective of cross-departmental functions
  • Partners with business consultants, project managers, and contractors with system/process reviews and documentation; attends all assigned project meetings to ensure appropriate capturing and communication of requirements/decisions and progress; ensures that process flows, business rules, and project discussions/decisions are documented and communicated to key business units and other affected departments; assists with vendor selection to support implementation of new processes
  • Develops, writes and communicates accurate project deliverables, including but not limited to project charters, work breakdown structure, quantitative impact of process change, use case scenarios, communication plans, risk mitigation plans, quality plans, issues/concerns logs, project checklists, process models, implementation plans, transition plans, and other models or outputs derived from Six Sigma/Lean tools and customer discussions; ensures that appropriate analysis is applied to business unit issues in an effort to provide the best resolution and to satisfy our internal and external customers
  • Maintains and keeps all records related to projects, such as scope change control documentation, cost change control documentation, transition plans, and revised requirement and process flow documents; works with project manager to notify and involve mandatory department personnel in all projects, such as Internal Audit, Financial Control, and Privacy Departments
  • Some travel required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

    Professional - Education & Experience
    Bachelor's Degree In a related field, Four years of related work experience in an analyst role performing business analysis, developing business requirements, using analysis techniques, writing technical and/or online documentation for end-users, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Lean or Six Sigma certification or equivalent (Preferred)

    Experience in the insurance industry (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and methodology of project management, quality management, and change management
