Job description
Business System Consultant 12 months Remote Responsibilities:
• Engages directly with end users, including Business Process Owners and functional area leaders, to understand business process objectives, pain points causing inefficiencies, identify areas of improvement to provide business value through technology solutions that incorporate existing and future regulatory requirements.
• Responsible for leading IT system changes through all aspects of change management, including demand, release and change processes; collaborating with and leading other internal AbbVie teams such as PMO, IT compliance/testing, IT policy governance, ARB, PSM and InfoSec; and teaming with other BTOs to ensure project success.
• With an agile mindset and approach, collaborates across QA BTS and other BTOs to drive efficiencies in IT solution delivery and day-to-day execution of core job responsibilities.
• Ability to understand commercial, off the shelf solution capabilities and IT administration functions (such as configuration of workflows, user/permissions, groups & roles) to support prototyping and proofs of concept that accelerate development/SLC cycle time.
• Understands and can translate basic data modeling concepts, including the use of visual tools to create dashboards that provide business insights leading to effective retrospective and predictive data analytics.
• Ability to lead small projects with limited supervision, including scope, schedule, resources and budget, with a focus on quality and compliance.
• Consults with functional areas to develop understanding of the varied and complex business needs supported by technology. Responsible for determining how changing business needs affect established IT systems. Understands the role of technology in the big picture and provides ideas and recommendations regarding the evolution of IT solutions.
• Responds to questions and influences end users regarding current and potential system inputs, processes, and outputs. Develops detailed business user requirements, system documentation, work flow procedures, and data modeling. Negotiates plans, time frames and trade-offs while ensuring clients understand the intended results of a project.
• Supports project management to ensure proper and accurate status is communicated to key stakeholders and BTS leadership.
• Ensures IT system documentation is current and accurate system documentation, during and post-project deployment, aligned with standards established within BTS.
• Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
• College degree in Information Systems, related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
• 3-5 years of prior experience in this type of role
• Experience in the development and implementation of large-scale/enterprise IT systems.
• Knowledge of Quality system concepts and business processes such as product complaint handling, supplier quality management, CAPA, non-conformance, change management and internal/external audit.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to effectively lead and facilitate meetings with customers and technical team members, including the preparation of meeting materials and documenting meeting minutes.
• Must be work product focused and detail oriented, have exceptional teamwork skills and a strong business stakeholder focus.
