ENSCO ASE is recruiting senior engineering and support staff supporting the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense, Research and Engineering Branch (OUSD/R&E). We are currently seeking a Subject Matter Expert I (Manufacturing) with demonstrated experience in providing technical experience and engineering expertise in cutting edge technologies and their application into new and innovative warfighting capabilities. Mature judgement required to interface with external stakeholders and senior government personnel. Position located in the Washington D.C./Virginia area.

  • Work to evaluate and secure cutting-edge technology and engineering capabilities to facilitate modernization efforts and support DoD joint warfighting efforts
  • Work with a team of driven, supportive, and highly skilled professionals
  • Areas of expertise in system capabilities, performance, and operations include: land, sea, air, and space platforms; offensive, defensive, kinetic and directed energy weapons; sensors for ISR and fire control; cyberwarfare; communication networks; electromagnetic spectrum management to include EW and 5G; application of automation; command, control, and battle management; fires close air support; long range fires; targeting; and air and missile defense
  • Areas of engineering expertise include: reliability, software development and engineering, cybersecurity, electronic warfare, human factors, manufacturing, and modular open systems architecture

Qualifications Required (Skills)

  • B.S. degree in a scientific, engineering, or other applicable technical or analytical discipline
  • Fifteen (15) or more years in a related engineering discipline
  • Provide technical experience and engineering expertise in cutting edge technologies and their application into new and innovative warfighting capabilities
  • In-depth technical knowledge and experience with existing and advanced concepts, DoD weapon systems and their capabilities, concept of operations, and limitations
  • Expert in manufacturing and will have experience in evaluating manufacturing plans and processes for complex DoD Weapon Systems
  • AN ACTIVE DOD TS/SCI CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN

  • Master's degree in a scientific, engineering, or other applicable technical or analytical discipline

Division Description

The Aerospace Sciences and Engineering (ASE) Division is based in Cocoa Beach, Fla., with facilities and capabilities in Colorado Springs, Colo., El Segundo, Calif., and Orcutt, Calif. ASE's primary focus is aerospace engineering, cyber security and meteorological systems.

ASE is the prime contractor to the U.S. Space Force, providing Systems Engineering & Integration of the Launch Safety infrastructure, the Satellite Control Network and the Standard Space Trainer.

ENSCO's aerospace engineering efforts support launch range activities throughout the U.S. ASE employees are developing the Range of the future and evaluating highly technical systems for critical launch operations, including range instrumentation, safety and communications.

Our Cyber domain experts are providing engineering solutions for space systems Defensive Cyber Operations, as well as cyber consultative support for private sector and government organizations.

The ASE Division is the premier integrator of weather systems and technologies to enhance safety, reduce cost, and lessen weather impacts on space launches, aviation and business operations.
