job summary:
As a Cloud Architect with ForgeRock focus, you will help improve and modernize the organization's ForgeRock and IAM capabilities. This role will focus primarily on leveraging AWS Cloud principles and patterns to improve service availability, scaling, and ongoing management. You will partner extensively with the IAM Solutions Architect, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, and Applications Development to design and implement improvements.

responsibilities:
More specifically, you will take the lead role in updating and improving Cloud based ForgeRock and IAM capabilities in the following areas:
- Container based deployment patterns
- Configuration management and deployment of ongoing configuration changes
- Performance and scalability
- Cost effectiveness through scaling down when able
- High availability including multi region and blue/green deployment patterns
- More frequent deployment of ForgeRock version upgrades
Lead Upgrades to Systems in Production, Performance, and Load Testing Efforts - Hands-on work to perform major architectural changes, software upgrades, patches and tuning as needed. Lead performance and load testing efforts.
Modernization - Responsible for keeping ForgeRock architecture modernized. Building evaluation environments and labs as needed. Research and evaluate new technologies, cloud offerings and solutions. That includes market analysis, capabilities comparison, pilots, document and present findings and recommendations.
Develop New Designs and Solutions - Develop architectural designs. Lead solutions rollout. Define required monitoring, testing, transition to operations and automate manual processes as much possible.
Escalation Management - Take the lead on technical escalations and drive incidents/problems until resolution. This involves automation, networking, cloud infrastructure, security, and integration with 3rd party products.
Knowledge Management - Architecture documents, requirements, network designs, roadmaps, technology maintenance/upgrade lifecycle, execution plans, monitoring and health checks validations, recovery plan, roll back plansDR Solutions, etc.
What you will bring:
- 8+ years of professional work experience
- 3+ years of experience relating to installing, configuring, and supporting the four major ForgeRock services - AM, DJ, IDM, and IG
- 5+ years of professional work experience with AWS, preferably with multi-region application deployments
- DevOps tools, including git-based version control and deployment pipelines
- Unix operating system
- Scripting tools (bash, Python, etc.)
- Networking skills including DNS and load balancers
- LDAP V3 directory server deployment and administration
- Experience with container-based technologies such as ECS, FarGate or AWS EKS is highly preferred
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related scientific or technical discipline required
- AWS Architect - Associate
If a bachelor's degree is required, related work experience may be substituted in some positions. One year of college course work at an accredited institution is equivalent to one year of related work experience.
