The Colgate Mobile Dental Van Driver is responsible for providing customer satisfaction through on-time, accurate, delivery of the "Bright Smiles, Bright Futures" mobile dental units to designated locations within regional territories of three or more states in order to promote our objectives of empowering children to practice good oral health, partnering with government and the profession to improve children's oral health, and reducing the prevalence of dental caries worldwide. This position is located in Washington DC area.
Colgate Mobile Dental Van Drivers are ambassadors who represent Colgate-Palmolive to our consumer base. They are the point of contact and liaison for Bright Smiles, Bright Futures (BSBF) visits in a range of venues, including schools, conventions, festivals, etc. They are empowered to resolve customer issues to ensure consistent demonstration of service excellence and community outreach.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Operate and safely drive BSBF dental van (up to 32') over the road in a multi-state region, which includes navigating in crowds and following parameters set by sponsoring agencies of event locations
Perform daily set up of BSBF dental van at scheduled locations. This includes setting up of the van, dental equipment, cleaning, restocking, and ordering program supplies
Provide effective customer service as the "first point-of-contact" to dental partners, event coordinators, volunteers, and the public, which may include answering basic BSBF program information, answering logistics questions, and directing inquiries/media requests to designated representatives.
Schedule maintenance and repair of mobile dental unit, e.g. oil changes, accident repairs, etc. and maintain event equipment (tables, awnings, banners, televisions, etc.). Also maintain van registration forms and related equipment documentation.
Communicate through gmail/email, phone and basic computer systems to gain information for scheduling, review event requirements, and record results as required.
Liaise with third-party agencies: maintenance/leasing, retail establishments, van storage company, and events management company
"On-Going" Duties
Ensure safety during events, including safe entry and exit of the mobile dental van and staffing registration area
Promote and employ safe work practices handling products on and off company vehicles
Operate company vehicles in a safe and professional manner complying with federal, state and local laws and Hill's guidelines
Maintain all DOT and vehicle logs as required by law and all company documents
Attend BSBF program, operations and task force meetings as well as virtual/online training
Perform virtual van visits remotely by moderating the meeting, monitoring chat functions and/or support presenting
Education/ Experience Requirements
Basic qualifications include:
High School Diploma or GED Certification
Minimum of a Class D license and able to meet DOT requirements
Minimum of (2) years driving experience in a vehicle with a gross weight rating of 10,001 lbs or more (such as bus, recreational or delivery vehicle)
Satisfactory completion of the background check including Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
Ability to use basic Google Suite and Microsoft platforms and have knowledge of using Gmail/Email
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment to clean, disinfect and dispose of bodily fluids
Must be able to lift, bend, pull, push and stand and set-up vehicle and equipment daily, to include up to 50 pounds at a time
Preferred qualifications include:
Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License
1-year or more professional driving experience with a Class A/B Commercial Driver's license
