Borger Management, Inc. has an excellent opportunity for an experienced multifamily professional who desires to continue their career in Real Estate Management, as a Community Manager. We're seeking a customer service-focused management professional who desires to work in a fast-paced environment and lead a team to join our team!

Borger Management, Inc. is an industry respected, full-service property management company with over 80 years experience in Washington, DC, and the surrounding metropolitan area.

The Community Manager should be a self-starter, who understands multifamily management and can apply sound judgment to make property decisions and motivate team members to deliver the superior level of service defined by Borger Management Inc.

The Community Manager is responsible for assisting the regional property manager in maintaining the physical asset and maximizing the financial returns from that asset in accordance with the company's objectives.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure staff compliance with federal and local legislation as well as company policies.
  • With the assistance of the regional property manager implement marketing and resident retention plan(s) and direct the actions of the leasing and management team to achieve performance objectives.
  • Review community financial objectives and ensure community operations maximize the financial returns for the property.
  • Implement an effective revenue collections plan to minimize delinquencies.
  • Create staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage to satisfy property needs.
  • Communicate effectively with owners, regional property manager, residents, community team and vendors.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes on rent/pricing strategies and ensure websites and printed material are accurate and updated.
  • Ensure all customer concerns are resolved promptly and appropriately.
  • Direct the maintenance team to ensure service requests are resolved timely and apartment turnover standards comply with company standards.

Education:

  • High school education or the equivalent is required; a college degree is a plus but not a requirement
  • Ability to fluently read and write English, accurately perform intermediate mathematical functions and use all on-site resident management software functions

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in residential management
  • MRI and BlueMoon experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read a budget and assist with the financial reporting for the property
  • Strong verbal and written abilities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Prior affordable housing experience preferred
