Job Summary

The Principal DSP Engineer is responsible for leading and managing embedded algorithm development projects as well as contributing to hands-on design and development work. This key position requires leadership skills and ability to manage all aspects of the embedded algorithm projects from requirements definition to product delivery. It also requires working knowledge of firmware architecture design and development methods. The engineer in this position will work closely with the firmware, SQA and analytics teams.

As the Principle DSP Engineer

The person in this role is responsible for leading and managing embedded algorithm development projects as well as contributing to hands-on design and development work. This key position requires leadership skills and ability to manage all aspects of the embedded algorithm projects from requirements definition to product delivery. It also requires working knowledge of firmware architecture design and development methods. The engineer in this position will work closely with the firmware, SQA and analytics teams.

Qualifications

Required

  • Masters or PhD in Electrical, Computer Science or Biomedical Engineering
  • 10+ years of embedded DSP design and development experience
  • Mastery of digital signal processing concepts
  • Expertise in design and implementation of communications and/or audio algorithms
  • Good understanding of software development life cycle and development methodologies
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design
  • Expertise in embedded firmware design and development using C/C++/Assembly
  • Expertise in implementing complex algorithms on fixed point DSP and RISC processors
  • Expertise in using MATLAB
  • Experience with medical device quality regulations including: GMP, ISO 13485/9001
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing requirements
  • Excellent, detail-oriented verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with techniques and tools for development, testing and analysis of real-time embedded systems: Oscilloscopes and Analyzers, Modeling and Analysis tools (Spice, MATLAB, JMP, Audition, etc.).
