Job description

Title: Facility Security Officer

Location: San Diego, CA

Summary:

TARVOS Systems is a small defense contractor looking to hire a part time Facility Security Officer (FSO) to manage the definition, execution, and oversight of plans, policies, and procedures to ensure we adhere to the DCSA security requirements for a 9 person SMO at the Secret level (without safeguarding). This role can be worked remotely with occasional on site visits as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties related to the role of Facility Security Officer (FSO), Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO)/Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO).
  • Collaborate and assist the ISSO / ISSM on implementation requirements for NIST 171.
  • Review NIST 171 documentation and processes for compliance.
  • Have a full understanding and application of guidance for all security functions in accordance with NISPOM and other applicable security
  • Develop security briefings/debriefings and maintain a security education
  • Review and ensure the maintenance of DD-254s for prime and
  • Maintain all security documentation and databases in accordance with government requirements
  • Develop, prepare, and implement local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Operations Security (OPSEC)
  • Conduct/participate in internal reviews and government
  • Investigate security infractions/violations and prepare reports and ratifications.
  • Maintain all security documentation and files in accordance with DCSA
  • Maintain FCL documentation and submission in accordance with DCSA
  • Process initial clearance submissions and periodic reinvestigations of staff, provide guidance and instruction to staff to ensure completion of security paperwork and fingerprinting.
  • Provide and document new employee security briefings, exit interviews and debriefing, investigate and report security violations and incidents.
  • Manage and develop annual refresher training to include preparing necessary documentation in support of the DCSA
  • Advise personnel of their reporting requirements, both personal/administrative and compliance/incident-related reports.
  • Interpret government policies for the development and implementation of security plans and
  • Maintain a working relationship with DCSA or other Federal Agencies and each contract's security office for processing and maintaining employee clearances or suitability
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen with an active DoD SECRET Security Clearance.
