Job description
Brillient Corporation is seeking a Financial Analyst to conduct lender oversight activities for all SBA Supervised Lenders (non-depository lending institutions that are authorized by SBA to make 7(a) loans) in an assigned portfolio. This position will support the SBA client at the office in Washington, DC.
Job Requirements:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform ongoing monitoring of the assigned portfolio, through periodic review of data analytical reports and lender financial statements, to include an assessment of the adequacy of regulatory capital and the loan loss reserve.
- Produce comprehensive analytical products and decision memoranda in accordance with SBA policy and procedures.
- Deliver written reports and verbal presentations to senior management.
- Perform analyses of audited financial statements, financial projections, and sensitivity analyses for complex for-profit and not-for-profit lending institutions.
- Use advanced skills in Excel (including preparing pivot tables), Word, and PowerPoint to extract data from multiple sources to complete spreadsheets or reports.
- Respond to inquiries received from Congressional, Federal, State and Local government representatives or officials, as well as representatives of trade associations and officers of large to small financial entities and international audiences.
- Perform administrative duties and responsibilities or to assist with other lending functions within the Office of Credit Risk Management.
- Provide expert technical experience and assistance in the conduct of special analyses and reviews of the Small Business Administration (SBA) portfolios and lender oversight programs including delegation of authority.
- Evaluate SBA portfolios on an ongoing basis to ensure risks to the SBA loan portfolio are accurate and appropriate.
- Work to ensure the monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables are submitted to SBA in a timely fashion.
- Review lenders federal and state regulators' enforcement actions, formal/informal agreements, mergers, and acquisitions.
- Review and revise the monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 7 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of the financial services industry, lending, and banking operations.
- Ability to analyze loan program weakness and lender compliance deficiencies and make recommendations.
- Ability to manipulate large databases/spreadsheets and analyze portfolio performance data and metrics.
- Ability to prepare analyses of complex financial and SBA loan program issues.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make presentations clearly, concisely, and effectively.
- I dentify data appropriate for program development, implementation, direction, management, monitoring, and valuation purposes.
- Proficiency working with MS Office Suite; advanced experience with MS Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Possess US Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Public Trust Security clearance.
- Experience with commercial lending and auditing.
- Previous experience working or supporting Federal Government projects.
