Job description

Under nominal supervision of the VP Talent & Culture, the Human Resources and Employee Engagement Associate Manager assists in delivering core HR functions which include program development and management, EEO/AAP compliance, coaching and counseling, employee engagement, best practices research, retention, and policy development and interpretation. Serves as a subject matter expert and will partner with department managers to help achieve their business goals by utilizing inclusive frameworks, strategies, and measures. The candidate must demonstrate initiative and be strategic, while also managing the core HR issues that arise in a rapidly changing environment.

  1. Maintain organizational staffing levels by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; coaches hiring managers during the entire recruitment and hiring process.
  2. Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all PPMW positions.
  3. Prepare employees for assignments/roles by overseeing and conducting orientation, onboarding, and training programs including the Center for Affiliated Learning System (CALS).
  4. Champion PPMW' s culture and In This Together ethos and identify and propose innovative ways to enhance the employee experience.
  5. Work closely with the VP of Talent and Culture and co-chair the Planned Parenthood Experience (PPX) Committee to support the Press Ganey Employee Engagement Survey and the Action Planning Readiness process.
  6. Processes new hire set-ups, terminations, and changes in a timely fashion. Enters/activates new hires into the time and attendance and payroll systems. Ensures all demographic and profile data is accurate and complete on an ongoing basis.
  7. Supports the VP of OTC on all labor management issues through scheduling, recording notes, managing grievances, and other issues.
  8. Creates and manages the monthly Office of Talent & Culture Newsletter.
  9. Special projects and other duties as assigned.


  1. Bachelor's degree from accredited university in human resource management, organizational development, business or demonstrated knowledge and experience indicating competency to perform in the role.
  2. 2 to 5 years of relevant human resources experience.
  3. Experience with Paylocity's HRI and payroll system or similar software.
  4. Familiarity with human resources trends and changing rules and regulations.
  5. Knowledge of HR laws, regulations and practices including ACA & FLSA.
  6. Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Word, Power Point and Excel.
  7. High level of confidentiality in all matters of the job.
  8. Demonstrated ability to reliably deliver excellent customer service.
  9. Detail-oriented and deadline-conscious team player able to prioritize tasks, works quickly and accurately with minimal direct supervision. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
  10. Travel to other PPMW locations and within the US required.
