Role
The Human Resources and Talent Manager will be responsible for the administration and management of the following key areas: recruiting; benefits; payroll; employee relations; performance reviews; compensation; organizational culture and team cohesiveness; employee engagement; and other related programs such as diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. This individual will ensure that employee programs support Foursquare ITP's culture and the needs of our unique, highly skilled workforce. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer but will also work closely with the Chief Operating Officer. The position will have the part-time assistance of our People and Culture Administrator who will receive direction on their duties from the HR and Talent Manager.
Responsibilities will include:
Companywide strategy and management:
- Developing an HR strategy, including developing company-wide and office-specific programs and policies.
- Participating in weekly meetings with the Senior Management Team and Administrative Team to provide input and ensure progress toward objectives and tasks.
- Providing direction to and overseeing tasks given to the People and Culture Administrator.
- Recommending and implementing HR policies and procedures and ensuring compliance, in coordination with the legal team, with all relevant state and federal law. Interpreting policies and providing counsel and guidance to the team.
People and Culture:
- Establishing team building and other initiatives to enhance employee engagement, teamwork, and relationships between team members and offices to optimize efforts to achieve company goals and staff retention.
- Reviewing and providing recommendations that correlate to the compensation philosophy and ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
- Improving on and maintaining/managing the onboarding process.
- Developing and leading initiatives related to improving DEI at the company related to hiring, staff retention, and internal training, in conjunction with the DEI Task Force.
- Creating and maintaining job description standard operating procedures and updating and maintaining internal job descriptions.
- Implementing employee training and organizational development programs and potentially creating and delivering training programs, in coordination with the VP of Service Delivery.
- Managing and evaluating the results of the annual employee engagement survey; leading internal discussions related to the results with company staff; and directing the plan for addressing action items that result from the input.
- Supporting the on-going development of performance management processes that are effective and provide mechanisms to foster employee development.
- Supporting and consulting with the team on employee relations issues as they arise, utilizing knowledge of employee relations principles, practices, and methods to resolve issues.
- Administering and assisting operations supervisors in the management of employee disciplinary actions.
Hiring:
- Developing and executing a talent strategy that establishes a consistent and robust recruiting process targeting diverse candidates, including applicant sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates.
- Building a talent pipeline that supports the growth of the organization.
- Building rapport and strong working relationships with the hiring managers.
- Creating job descriptions and job postings; executing the talent acquisition process; and coordinating the background check process for final candidates.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Developing a compensation philosophy, inclusive of salary and benefits.
- Ensuring that compensation is internally consistent and externally competitive and managing the Company's access to external compensation data sources.
- Developing and maintaining an overall benefits strategy.
- Ensuring that the Company Benefit programs are relevant, competitive, cost effective, valued, and in compliance with applicable regulations, and making recommendations as appropriate.
- Acting as primary interface with benefit providers for all employees.
- Maintaining employee payroll and other records and related documents.
- Administering and managing leave requests related to FMLA and other internal policies.
Required Skills and Experience
The selected candidate should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Communications, Organizational Management, Psychology, or related field and at least 6-9 years (but potentially more) of progressively responsible experience in human resources, or equivalent.
- Experience working in a company with highly skilled and educated employees, preferably a professional services company.
- Hands-on experience in full life cycle recruiting, selection, and on-boarding.
- An employee-oriented attitude with the ability to resolve problems.
- Strong knowledge of how federal, state, and local laws and regulations relate to payroll, benefits administration, and employment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- The ability to diplomatically and effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- The ability to facilitate discussions and gain consensus.
- A highly motivated, results-oriented attitude with the will to succeed.
- The ability to work under pressure in a high-growth, time-sensitive environment with multiple deadlines.
- The ability to appropriately manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Knowledge of current best practices and trends in DEI, ideally.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Experience with payroll systems and HR management systems is beneficial.
Location
This position will be based in our DC headquarters office with a two-day per week in-office requirement. On occasion there may be a need for more, such as busy hiring cycles, performance reviews, etc.

We offer a competitive salary between $80,000 and $100,000 based on experience and qualifications.
