Job description
Human Resources Coordinator
The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for supporting a variety of tasks within the Human Resources Department, including, but not limited to the following:
- Process all associate personnel records such as (Personnel Action Files, vacation, sick leave, new hire, termination, and exit clearance) and post them in the HR system
- Ensure and notify managers on all eligible employees on performance reviews
- Assist in conducting employee orientation
- Administer all evaluation performance tracking for all salaried and hourly associates.
- Process all associate health & life insurance claim forms including medical, dental and life insurance & COBRA.
- Ensure all eligible employees are enrolled in all benefits programs including, but not limited to medical, dental and life insurance plans.
- Inform all eligible staff of any and all changes in benefit and insurance company programs and/or procedures.
- Audit monthly Insurance billings
- Assist in preparing workers compensation reports and ensure proper reporting to the Insurance Agency.
- Assist in conducting Human Resource Surveys.
- Conducting employee reference checks.
- Prepare employee verifications, room discount program forms.
- Data entry of all vacation leave, sick leave, new hires and terminations
- Conducting in/out processing of associates.
- Responsible for filing (Personnel Action Files, leaves, new hire personnel information, and record keeping).
- Responsible for ensuring the requisition of all office supplies.
- Maintain and update Human Resources bulletin board.
- Assist all associates with Human Resources needs.
- Interact with people beyond giving and receiving instructions, particularly interaction with supervisor, subordinates, co-workers, and guests in completing assignments, resolving staff and guest complaints.
- Conduct all administrative tasks in a timely fashion through conducting employment references on all qualified/screened applicants.
- Handle initial filing of worker's compensation reports and monitor handling of claims through discharge. Prepares a summary of outstanding claims which is reviewed by the Compensation and Benefits manager weekly.
Required Education and Experience
High School or equivalent education required.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Good communication skills, both verbal and written required.
Preferred Education and Experience
Minimum one year of Human Resource experience within the hotel/leisure/retail sector required.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required.
