Job Description
Position Title: Human Resource Manager
Supervisor: Executive Director
JOB SUMMARY:
Develops human resources policies and program for the company. The major areas covered are organizational planning, organizational development, employment hiring, employee relations, compensation, benefits, safety and health, and employee services. Originates human resources practices and objectives that will provide a balanced program throughout all departments. Assists and advises management on human resources issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management with 5 years of demonstrated experience in healthcare related field
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Self-starter, ability to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to multitask; work well along or as a member of a team.
- Must be organized, driven and a capable problem solver.
- Knowledge of databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Formulates and recommends human resources policies and objectives for the entire company
- Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish positive employer-employee and employee-employee relationships.
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions.
- Acts as the primary contact with labor counsel and outside government agencies.
- Protects interests of employees and the company in accordance with human resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.
- Establishes standard recruiting practices and procedures to ensure a diverse workforce. Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and non-exempt personnel; writes and places advertisements.
- Coordinate hiring of new employees
- Approves recommendations for employee terminations and disciplinary actions.
- Directs a process of organizational planning that evaluates structure, job design, and manpower forecasting throughout the company.
- Establishes wage and salary structure, pay policies, performance appraisal programs, employee benefit programs and services.
- Responsible for administering the company health plan including ACA compliance.
- Responsible for administration of and compliance with all AAP / EEOC policies and procedures. Works with third party consultant to produce annual AAP document.
- Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance.
- Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
- Communicates changes in the organization's personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.
- Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
- Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization.
- Develops and maintains a human resource information system that meets the organization's personnel information needs.
- Supervises the staff of the human resource department.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
