Job description

Law Firm Staff Recruiter - for top tier global law firm in Washington, DC.

** This position can be remote with occasional in person meetings in the office.

This position is an integral part of the firm-wide staff recruiting team responsible for sourcing, screening and hiring qualified talent for staff positions. Candidate will lead, facilitate and implement recruiting/hiring processes and procedures, and develop an in-depth understanding of the organizational structure and department functions to attract and source qualified talent.

Duties include:
Partner with hiring managers to determine requirements and qualifications for open staff positions of all levels. Lead candidates and hiring managers through staff recruiting process.
Update/edit position descriptions as needed. Maintain job description electronic files.
Ensure job openings/position descriptions are posted on intranet, website, and with relevant recruitment resources including employment agencies, social media, job boards and other recruitment sources as appropriate.
Establish/maintain productive professional relationships with existing and new vendor/agencies and recruiters. Effectively convey to external recruiters the benefits of working at the firm, and skills/experience for each role.
Provide regular status updates to staff recruiting team colleagues and hiring managers. Maintain communications with in-process candidates, manage expectations of process and decision-making timeline.
Use compensation calculation metrics to determine potential salaries for applicants. Ensure candidate requirements and experience are aligned with position salary potential.
Review/assess candidate resumes and applications; identify/recommend suitable candidates to hiring managers for consideration.
Administer testing and other position-specific screening as appropriate.
Coordinate/schedule interviews. Assist with logging candidate submissions/resumes and status updates.
Conduct reference checks, ensure that due diligence is completed at the appropriate stage of the recruiting process.
Serve as a backup to coordinate onboarding and conduct new hire orientations.
In coordination with director, extend offers and prepare offer letters.
Prepare/send regret notices where appropriate.
Apply knowledge of general EEO and applicable employment guidelines.
Negotiate fee agreements with new recruiting agencies.

Position Requirements:
Must have at least three years of recruiting experience in a fast-paced, service-intensive setting. Law firm experience preferred.
Behavior-based interviewing skills and experience.
Strong organizational/process management skills.
Superior interpersonal and written communication skills. Proven success interacting with staff and candidates of all levels.
Prior experience and proficiency with ATS technology and MSOffice.
Flexibility to occasional OT as needed. Salary commensurate with experience; generous employee benefits offered.
