Job description

The IT Power BI Analyst role is to contribute to the overall Business Intelligence (BI) needs of Bob's Discount Furniture. This includes requirements gathering, designing solutions, developing Power BI reports and maintaining Data Warehouse, Data Mart, Data Lake, and reporting solutions. This role will also work with business teams to deliver deep business insights and promote self-service reporting capabilities. This will require an understanding business strategy and goals, data architecture, KPIs definition, report / dashboard creation, assist IT and business teams with complex requirements, training etc.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross functional business teams to gather, analyze and document business requirements including reporting functionality, source data, data transformation, data quality, and data lifecycle needs
• Work with technical teams to define and extend enterprise data model for robust self-service and operational reporting
• Direct data integration team to build data integration from various internal and external data sources to Data Warehouse and Data Lake platforms
• Build actionable reporting and dashboards to find deep business insights
• Perform user acceptance testing to ensure new features are bug free
• Train end users on system features and BI platforms
• Document system features and changes
• Optimize reporting performance by leveraging Data Mart
• Propose data quality checks, data audit, exceptional handling, logging, automated notification, and data lifecycle to keep data platforms running in autonomous way
• Participate in day to day maintenance and enhancement of existing data and reporting platforms
• Build and maintain reporting solutions using self-service and standard reporting tools
• Follow IT processes and best practices for successful implementation and maintenance of data and reporting solutions
• Participate in continuous innovation of data and reporting solutions to deliver actionable business insights and effective data delivery

Requirements

• 2 years hands-on experience working on business intelligence and data management platforms using Power BI
• Solid knowledge of design and development of business intelligence and data management to operate it in autonomous way.
• Experience working with cross functional business and IT teams (including onshore/ offshore model)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal to work effectively with business and IT teams
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Minimum Education and Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
• 2 years of solid, diverse work experience on Power BI and solution design and development
• An experience with SQL, RDBMS, data integration platforms such as SQL Server Integration Server, reporting platforms such as SAP BOBJ
• Experience with Power BI is a must
• Advanced DAX skills preferred
• Applicable certifications preferred
