Maxar is seeking a R&D Scientist to join our Research & Development team. This role can be performed remotely within the U.S.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Act as technical lead for preliminary and advanced design studies and prepare portions of engineering and R&D proposals.
• Generate and prototype algorithms and techniques to enhance and automate production processes.
• Represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical problems associated with specific projects.
• Involved in business development including briefing customers on company capabilities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must ==== or permanent resident
• Minimum of 2 years related work experience. (Master's degree may count for 2 years of work experience)
• Bachelor's degree required. Four additional years of experience can be substituted for degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in computer science, engineering, physics, or mathematics.
• Strong background in photogrammetry, remote sensing, or computer vision.
• Python or C++.
• Strong background in designing and implementing complex algorithms.
• Solid coding experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience building applications in AWS.
• Experience with COTS products.
• Knowledge of any of the following; Imagine, ArcGIS, ENVI, SOCET SET.
• Experience with satellite and/or aerial imagery and general mapping.
• Experience with 3D and elevation data.
