Job description
Ballast Research is looking for an outcome-driven individual to lead our efforts engaging senior federal policymakers in our research. The Manager of Research Recruitment will oversee a team of 3 associates and is responsible for executing the strategy for federal policymaker engagement. This role will play a crucial part in the successful execution of Ballast's quantitative and qualitative research cycles each year.
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Outreach Planning: Prepare each federal research project for appropriate research execution with the support of one or more associates. Including but not limited to: managing relationships with external research recruiters, building contact lists, developing outreach strategies, developing and coordinating respondent recruitment plans, and working with the client service team to build the most effective study set.
- Policymaker Engagement: Lead efforts to build relationships with policymakers through direct, multi-channel engagement (phone, in-person, email).
- Research Fielding: Oversee execution of research plan by monitoring ongoing survey response rates, troubleshooting on various email, calling, and social media campaigns, participating in quality control meetings to ensure that all data is collected in an efficient manner to serve Ballast's clients needs with the highest quality research.
- Team & Project Management: Oversee the project work of 3 associates. Ensure their work is completed in a timely, high-quality manner and oversee their individual career development. Serve as their advocate and thought partner to ensure success and continued growth.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience recruiting difficult-to-reach audiences for quantitative and qualitative market research engagements
- 1+ years of managing teams
- Extensive project management experience
- Experience coordinating and managing across teams and stakeholder groups
- Interest in working in a collaborative environment
- Track record for managing and developing talent
- Exceptional analytic skills and strong written and verbal communication
- Strong attention to detail
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with (and interest in) the policy and/or advocacy landscape in DC is a plus.
- Experience managing email-based outreach using automated platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred
- Experience planning and hosting professional events is a plus
