Job description

Senior Account Executive, Public Affairs & Crisis

Washington, DC

The Role:

We are looking for a Senior Account Executive to join our Public Affairs & Crisis team in Washington, DC. BCW's Public Affairs & Crisis professionals serve as trusted advisors to our clients, helping them build reputations and influence in the world's power centers, as well as navigate intensive, short-term policy battles.

In this client-facing and high-visibility role, you will support our clients' public affairs and policy goals through reactive media relations and thought leadership, as well as participate in interagency team management opportunities.

This role will be working on a diverse account portfolio with clients that are at the forefront of policy and advocacy-driven issues.

The ideal candidate will be client-facing and have solid project management skills, an overall understanding of the DC public affairs and policy space, and the ability to draft strategic materials for clients.

If you are a communications professional who can think strategically and act tactically, we want to speak with you.

The Team:

We are living in unprecedented times: a world with tremendous uncertainty where the only constant is a pace of change that is both staggering and accelerating. Life today is fast, interconnected, loud and bewildering.

Within our BCW Public Affairs Solution, our role is to clear the clouds of confusion. While we adapt to change, our aims remain the same. We pinpoint risks, mitigate challenges, identify opportunities and help our clients influence opinion and navigate the global regulatory and political maze.

Most importantly, constituents today want to have their say, and they know how to use technology as a platform.

BCW offers unmatched global support in advocacy, public affairs communications and media relations. We have been campaigning and messaging for more than six decades. From circular economy to cybersecurity, from chemicals to healthcare and from agriculture to social justice, we cover every aspect of public policy at global and national levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the project management deliverables of internal teams, clients, and vendors to ensure high-quality executions that exceed expectations
  • Assist in crafting strategic campaigns designed to achieve clients' reputation, public affairs and/or marketing communications objectives.
  • Write proposals, strategy documents and client correspondence.
  • Assist with new business growth opportunities
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the client(s), including their business and goals, as well as helping to identify opportunities and challenges for each client.

Experience that contributes to your success:

  • Excellent project management and writing skills
  • Experience being in a client-facing role
  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience in public relations with a specific focus on earned media and strategic communications and/or advocacy communications campaigns
  • Working knowledge and understanding of communications, public relations, and public affairs
  • Desire to work in a diverse and inclusive organization as an active participant in culture initiatives, training opportunities and employee resource groups
