About the Role We provide our clients with a comprehensive view of strategic communications that leverages our integrated suite of services, including financial communications, corporate reputation, transaction communications and public affairs in all the major markets around the world. As the Senior Consultant on our Energy & Natural Resources team, you will support team members in the execution of communications programs and, by doing so, will learn the necessary subjects and processes to service and advise clients. You will conduct research for ongoing projects and will work with account teams to execute projects and meet client goals and objectives. In this role, you must keep up-to-date on key issues and current events for clients, and remain informed about market and industry trends. What You'll Do You will assist the Energy and Natural Resources Sector on all client-related activities. In this role, you will develop in-depth knowledge of clients' objectives and challenges in order to assist them through challenging situations and prepare them for future issues. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following: Play a role in the research, planning and development of comprehensive communication programs Write and edit a variety of materials (e.g., memos, press releases, presentations, emails, media pitches, and web content) Manage client expectations and participate in preparing new business presentations Address client issues thoughtfully and effectively Assist in successfully growing existing accounts Mentor junior colleagues and actively participate in firm initiatives Client Delivery Play a role in the research, planning and development of comprehensive communication programs Draft a variety of materials (e.g., memos, press releases, presentations, emails, media pitches, and web content) Manage communication strategies and execute a variety of tactics at the same time Support multiple client teams to deliver high-quality work focused on client needs Create client-ready deliverables in a timely and efficient manner Provide strong project management Business Development Maintain solid relationships with clients Work with managers to help clients assess their program needs Actively participate in the generation of Strategic Communications new business proposals and presentations Practice Leadership Consistently seek ways to improve client service Support the development, production and marketing of thought leadership surrounding emerging trends and issues Support driving diversity of thought and experience How You'll Grow This is a great opportunity to strengthen your understanding of the business and use this knowledge to help build best-in-class programs. In addition, developing strong interpersonal skills by working closely with members of the FTI team and your clients on a day-to-day basis. Basic Qualifications Solid grasp of public relations, including traditional media relations experience, as well as digital and social media program management experience Must possess superior research, writing and editing skills. Demonstrated development of a professional network and experience with media contacts, database tools and pitching media to secure client coverage Experience with popular blogging tools, publishing software and other social media platforms A team player who is also an independent thinker Strong time and priority management skills and an ability to effectively juggle multiple client projects Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, deadline-oriented dynamic environment with regular change Proven project management skills and the ability to proactively support/counsel key client relationship Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word Understanding of Associated Press Style Guidelines This role requires travel to clients and FTI offices COVID Vaccine required.* PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in relevant industry or field 2 years of relevant experience (communications agency, state/federal government, journalism, think tanks, etc.). Advanced degree with strong internships will also be considered.
