WWT Application Services has an opportunity for a Senior Agile Business Analyst to assist with teams' and individuals' delivery of valuable software solutions. A Senior Agile Business Analyst is responsible for assisting the Product Owner and team to ensure that all necessary product ownership tasks are completed, that the appropriate upfront research and analysis has been conducted, and that the team's backlog is adequately refined.

As a Senior Agile Business Analyst, you will work closely with our internal and client's Product Owners and SMEs. An ideal candidate will be able to quickly come up to speed in the client's business domain and be effective at influencing clients and delivering recommendations to help them build the most valuable product. Additionally, the candidate is proactive and confident in the approach/techniques for getting work done. The candidate should also have real-world experience working as part of an Agile team. A Senior Agile Business Analyst is an expert in tactics and has extensive, real-world experience in researching and analyzing business requirements, distilling business value and goals into prioritized features and user stories, and working closely with the delivery team during execution. As leaders on the team, these individuals can also coordinate between other disciplines (i.e. development, user experience) to drive successful delivery. The Senior Agile Business Analyst begins to understand and validate how tactical work impacts and aligns with product strategy, vision, and business goals. The candidate prioritizes work to align with the strategic direction of the product and business.

The Senior Agile Business Analyst will report to WWT's Product Owner Practice Manager and will guide product ownership principles within their delivery teams. They will primarily work with a WWT development team out of the WWT office but will travel to client sites as required by the engagement and client needs.

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Clearly understands the client's needs related to the product by working closely with the Product Owner, SMEs, and other business partners, so and clearly communicates the product vision and client's needs to the team.
  • Conducts the necessary research and analysis to ensure that the appropriate information and context is available for the team to conduct productive story writing sessions.
  • Reviews or creates process and flow maps to understand the business processes and system flows, in order to fully document the business domain.
  • Documents any necessary business rules and logic needed to fully incorporate a business process into the system.
  • Documents and identifies story dependencies to help facilitate backlog refinement and prioritization.
  • Ensures that stories are written by the team and Product Owner at the appropriate level and size to allow the team to deliver value frequently.
  • Manages a regular cadence for story definition, story writing, story review, and story prioritization to maintain a well-defined and prioritized backlog of sufficient length to support the team's velocity.
  • Will assist the Product Owner with managing feature and/or story maps to help them facilitate product strategy decisions, release planning, and prioritization of work.
  • Aids the Product Owner with defining what business value means to the client and how to assess each feature/story based on that business value to help maximize the value the team delivers.
  • Assists the Product Owner with identifying goals, defining a product vision and a product strategy, and ensuring it is updated as needed.
  • Responsible for working with the Product Owner and Delivery Lead to ensure that the roadmap is kept up-to-date and reflects any changes in business priority.

Required
  • Practical experience working with stakeholders and others to identify, clarify, and articulate product vision
  • Ability to demonstrate techniques for effectively interviewing stakeholders, SME's, and users to understand customer needs and utilize this information to generate appropriate business analysis artifacts such as process flow maps, use cases, value stream maps, empathy maps, etc.
  • Can illustrate techniques for researching and documenting business rules/logic
  • Is effective in uncovering hidden and non-functional requirements
  • Can show the ability to create process maps, map existing workflows and system flows, and identify areas for process improvement.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree

Work Experience
  • 4+ years experience as a member of an Agile software development team, preferably as an Agile Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Scrum Master
  • 3+ years experience working directly with business stakeholders
  • 3+ years experience performing Business Analysis responsibilities

Travel: up to 25%

Compensation: This position offers a base salary of $81K to $144K.

Specifics will vary depending on skills, qualifications, education, and geographic location.
