Job description

Reporting to the SVP of Global Sales, the Vice President of Business Development will be a highly collaborative and influential senior leader responsible for initiating and closing sales opportunities, which will significantly accelerate Company's growth and profitability. This position achieves these goals by developing and implementing Company's business development strategies and tactics.

Responsibilities for this position may include:

  • Lead and participate in the identification, qualification and pursuit of strategic business opportunities and partnerships
  • Build and lead BD strategies with quantifiable results.
  • Participate in bid decisions, development of cost strategies and proposal reviews.
  • Engage and inform executive leadership with the voice of the customer and advocate internally for the actions and commitments necessary to win
  • Drive collaboration across the organization to bring best-in-class solutions to the customer and maximize win probability
  • Work with Marketing leadership to drive partner-focused campaigns that result in key business outcomes (top of funnel, leads, conversions, etc)
  • Perform ongoing assessments of customer requirements, determine market trends and develop strategies that align the customer's needs/opportunities with Company's capabilities and discriminators
  • Seek and utilize market intelligence and competitor data to position Company as a differentiator ensuring success
  • Recruit and lead top BD talent as the company scales

Who You Are

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in business development and partnerships
  • Superior networking, value positioning, and negotiation skills
  • Previous experience managing people strongly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional skills - you have the ability to think and communicate creatively, thoughtfully, and on your feet with diverse technical and non-technical team members
  • Experience managing the sales cycle end to end including prospecting, driving, orchestrating, and closing sales at the C-suite and executive level
  • Possess a business acumen and professional network to leverage when identifying and closing business opportunities
  • Experience selling business applications or software platforms is required
