PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS:
Physical ability to safely lift, carry and maneuver heavy boxes, display panels, etc. while setting up for tradeshows and other industry events.
POSITION CONCEPT:
The Business Development Manager Sr., under minimum supervision, acquires, builds and maintains relationships and develops projects with various types of customers related to traditional natural gas distribution service and, compressed natural gas (CNG) services. Assists the Director in the design and implementation of business development strategies and identifying potential growth areas. Supports Company efforts to increase revenue and maintain good customer service. Acts as the liaison between the Company, contractors, and developers. Also provides the coordination of Company participation in community events, conferences and trade shows as they relate to promoting natural gas growth areas.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for identifying and facilitating CNG opportunities throughout Florida. Work with client companies to uncover opportunities. Develop business plans for specific projects in identified markets. Strong focus on developing relationships with customers, developers, equipment manufacturers, and vendors.
- Develop individualized proposals and business plans for prospective customers.
- Responsible for coordination of all projects with customers and/or contractors. Continuously communicates with management, operations and co-workers to ensure delivery of our services on time and exceeding our customers' expectations.
- Conduct market segment analysis for each market area.
- Gain trust and credibility as an industry expert in the customer's field of business and by providing solutions to the customer. Comprehensively understand the energy industry through keeping abreast of the products, new and emerging technologies, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends.
- Participate in industry related organizations including NGVAmerica, Florida Natural Gas Association, AGA Drive Natural Gas, Clean Cities Coalitions, League of Cities, Association of Counties, Solid Waste Association of North America, Florida Association of Governmental Fleet Administrators, Florida Trucking Association and other organizations as necessary.
SUPERVISION:
Indirect Supervision: Supervises the performance of contractors and their workforces to ensure delivery of program initiatives.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Key Internal: Interfaces with all levels of management, corporate and regional
departments.
Key External: Customers, contractors, vendors and industry associations including Florida Natural Gas Association, NGV America, American Gas Association-Drive Natural Gas, Clean Cities Coalitions, League of Cities, and other organizations.
EDUCATION, (LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS):
Required: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in the field of business, marketing, engineering, economics, finance, science, math or related technical field.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Minimum of 5 years' experience in the energy industry and/or alternative fuel vehicle industry.
Preferred: Customer relations, account management or sales experience in alternative fuel vehicle markets.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Required:
- Demonstrated proficiency in project management.
- Must have excellent analytical ability, demonstrated leadership qualities, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be detailed and strategy oriented and able to work on numerous projects and activities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred:
- Understanding of alternative fuel vehicle technology, operations and maintenance desirable.
- Knowledge of compressor/charging technology and operations.
