Roles and Responsibilities:

• Planning and preparation of audits/inspections including travel arrangements
• Auditing/verifying compliance based on scheme and checklist
• Preparing, approving, and distributing the audit/inspection report
• Conducting audit/inspection follow-up
• Assistance with handling of claims and appeals
• Keeping abreast of developments, issues and legislative changes pertaining to the sectors in which audits are carried out

Qualifications:

• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks across multiple projects based on Control Union and client needs.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Comfortable speaking and working with new people across all management level.
• Ability to work independently until tasks are completed for stretches and also collaborate with a diverse group of Control Union staff and customers.
• Strong communication abilities and demonstrated abilities in critical analysis preferred
• Initiative and ability to work independently and manage own workload
• Must be able to speak and listen in person and on the phone. Auditing may require international travel and extensive hours in the field.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
• Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, Excel etc.
• Must be able to learn easily new computer software
• Has to have excellent interpersonal skills

Education and Experience:

• University degree in agriculture, OR extensive farming or processing experience, OR equivalent inspecting or auditing experience for organic on farm level or agriculture.
• Valid ISO 9001 IRCA training certificate
• Experience in farm/processing audits in agriculture or food safety preferred
• Bilingual (English - Spanish)
• Must have a valid driver license
