  • Domestic travel expectation of 10%.

How will you make an impact?

As a Project Manager II at the Alachua site, you will help to drive growth, innovation, and customer engagement.

In this position, you will lead collaborative, cross-functional teams to deliver successful implementation of quality and growth initiatives and other key programs for the site. These will involve partnering across all site functional areas as well as bridging cross-site teams within the company.

You will be responsible for the initiation, planning, execution, control, and closing of projects, while remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments and goals of the organization. You will lead Operational Excellence events at the site designed to meet or exceed the key performance indicators such as Revenue, EBITA, Right-First-Time (Quality), On-Time Delivery, Customer Experience and Employee Engagement.

You will report to the Sr. Manager, Operational Excellence, you will apply stage-gate processes and program management best practices to deliver agreed program scope, schedule, and budget, while managing execution, risks, trade-offs, expectations, and communications.

What will you do?

  • Be accountable for successful execution on project timelines and overall program goals from initial scoping and concept through successful implementation and project closure while ensuring that project benefits are being delivered and realized per plan to the business
  • Coach Champion and Stakeholders to define project scope, goals and deliverables with cross-functional teams
  • Proactively develop, integrate, and maintain comprehensive program execution plans, tasks, schedules, budgets, resource plans, tracking, and communication plans that instill confidence in project/program performance
  • Continually analyze and manage potential project risks to enable successful project completion. Develop, communicate and implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans
  • Produce periodic progress reports or update on project status to senior leadership or other partners using established communication mechanisms
  • Facilitate decision making within the team to drive progress and ensure on time and on budget completion of project results
  • Lead site projects and operational excellence events
  • Serve as a change agent - someone who can influence up, down, and across the organization, build consensus, and ultimately make positive changes to the business; sees opportunities to "find a better way every day" and has the courage to take action and/or challenge the status quo

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in business, science or engineering
  • PMP certification preferred

Experience

  • 3+ yrs. leading or supporting complex technical projects/programs
  • Experience in Life Sciences, Pharma or Biotech experience preferred
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • CDMO and/or viral vector manufacturing experience desirable
  • Track record in managing a range of complex, high-impact projects simultaneously
  • Proven experience facilitating workshops
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical GMP manufacturing and laboratory requirements and operations

  • Strong stakeholder management, relationship management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire and influence without authority
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining strategic priorities
  • Project and program management best practices and tools - and knowing how to apply them to be purpose-fit for the program
  • Ability to grasp complex issues and ideas and translate them into key themes.
  • Highly collaborative team player who fosters open communication and facilitates mutual understanding and alignment to resolve conflicts.
  • Strong business analysis skills, with the ability to probe, analyze and interpret issues and information.
  • Excellent organizational skills, process-oriented, effective time management and disciplined execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to facilitate understanding and alignment laterally across functions as well as vertically to senior levels within the organization.
