Job description

Arena Investors, LP ("Arena") is a global investment management firm that pursues a multi-strategy investment process with a wide opportunity set. The firm has a unique depth of experience (with the senior Managing Directors having an average of over 20 years of experience in their respective areas), and the firm also presents a unique opportunity in that it is early in its growth, having been formed as a new entity approximately six years ago by Chief Executive Officer Daniel Zwirn.

Arena manages money for institutional investors (e.g., insurance companies, endowments and foundations, etc). That capital is used to offer flexible solutions for counterparties who find themselves in "special situations" (eg, time constraints, distress, out-of-favor industry or geography). You can see more about the approach at , including various articles and interviews in the Newsroom section.

Arena is looking to expand the Private Real Estate Credit team, through the addition of a Transaction Manager. In this role, this individual will act as the intermediary between all parties, both internal and external, in closing commercial mortgage loan transactions. This individual will communicate with internal compliance, internal loan servicing operations, asset management and treasury, counterparties, banks, attorneys, and other third party vendors to answer questions and resolve any issues at closing and future funding. On the days leading up to and on the day of closing, this individual will interact with all parties to resolve any problems and facilitate the closing.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with internal and external counterparties such as borrowers, banks, attorneys, and other vendors to answer questions and resolve any issues from the point a term sheet is executed through loan closing.
  • Coordinate a smooth closing process so all investments are funded on schedule
  • Resolve any operational and funding issues that arise during the investment process and servicing of the loan

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree ideally in a quantitative area (e.g., finance, economics, accounting, engineering)
  • 3-5 years experience in closing commercial mortgage loans including due diligence, loan documentation, engaging third parties, facilitating settlement statements and deal execution
  • Excellent communication, time-management, and computer skills including use of Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Advanced analytical, math and calculation skills
  • The highest level of personal integrity and ethical standards.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic and a desire to work collaboratively across the organization.
