Work Hours/Shift:
- Full-Time, Monday - Friday
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Serves as a contributing member of the Laboratory Informatics Team, dedicated to the development of electronic documentation solutions that support clinical workflow and practice and align with the current best practice standards.
- Recommend customization of the application for unique department scenarios and build using application tools with minimal assistance
- Designs, builds, and tests clinical application components and makes necessary changes using build tools.
- Communicates necessary changes made in the application amongst team members and site contacts as appropriate
- Performs daily maintenance activities, support Cerner team members as well as other AIT team members as necessary, reviews support related incidents, requests, change control and provides appropriate build steps
- Develops and maintains system design documentation and outlines build steps using appropriate tools
- Participates in team meetings, project meetings, and other meetings when requested.
- Plan and coordinate special projects using project management skills, tools, and AIT methodologies with assistance from team members, the application manager and/or the project manager.
- Collaborates with hospital leadership, physicians, clinicians, end users, vendors and associates to develop and deploy electronic applications or new functionality.
- Assesses clinical workflow processes, identifies gaps, defines necessary process changes, and develops future workflows related to the implementation of new solutions or functionality.
- Assists the training team in the preparation of training materials and provides education on new applications or functionality. Conducts train-the-trainer, super-user, upgrade and/or other training with moderate direction from team members or the application manager.
- Actively participates in facility support through solution implementation, activation, and post-live support.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience Required:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological Science, healthcare-related field, or Information Technology, and
- Three years analytical, technical experience in Clinical or Anatomic Laboratory setting, Laboratory Information Systems or IT healthcare field, specifically in systems applications and programs
- Yearly participation in ongoing education either formal or through conferences, active professional organization participation, or journal presentations.
- Basic Microsoft suite experience required
- Completion of one professional certification within three years and maintenance of certification thereafter if applicable
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Demonstrates advanced functional knowledge of one of the following applications: Cerner Pathnet (Genlab, Blood Bank, Microbiology, Anatomic Pathology, Outreach Services, Medical Device Integration, Point of Care Device Integration or Reference lab Interfaces)
- Technical skills and aptitudes in Information Systems-related aspects of laboratory testing and processes.
- Ability to read text and numbers in English, and comprehend, measure, calculate, reason, match and problem solve.
- Mature, independent professional judgment with minimal supervision and the ability to handle confidential information within AdventHealth System guidelines and applicable regulations.
- Ability to make appropriate decisions in stressful situations and handle multiple priorities and projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in written form with persons of varied backgrounds in a respectful and professional manner
- Ability to build and maintain effective productive teams and appropriate peer relationships to facilitate organizational objectives.
- High degree of theoretical and practical knowledge and expertise in computer-related applications or functions and the related laboratory procedures.
- Ability to accurately learn, validate, implement, train others, and apply new computer-related applications and programs.
- Creative, self-directed, with initiative to develop and implement new programs
Job Summary:
The Clinical Information Systems Analyst Intermediate has a comprehensive understanding of system build and implementation, the ability to analyze and understand business problems, and the knowledge to make solution recommendations that meet the organizational goals of maintaining clinical and business systems. They are dedicated to providing a secure, effective, integrated patient care delivery system that continually improves outcomes, reduces cost, increases efficiency, and enhances patients' experiences. Responsibilities include working with Information Systems applications, generally requiring a high degree of theoretical and practical knowledge and expertise in both the application and laboratory processes, collaborates with hospital system teams and assists with implementing various hardware and software, participates in testing, installations and upgrades. The position monitors error logs and troubleshoots daily activities of the Laboratory Information System and billing, and assists hospital systems with troubleshooting. On-call hours may be required. They are also expected to actively participate in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
