Job Summary
This Animal Technician is responsible for all aspects of animal care and ascites production. Assigned responsibilities can include watering and feeding animals, cleaning cages, providing fresh bedding, and completing all assigned ascites manufacturing activities. The candidate will work independently to complete all assigned tasks, completing and reviewing all paperwork and calculations. The candidate must be able to execute assigned procedures in a fast-paced and results-oriented manufacturing environment satisfying quality standards in accordance with customer satisfaction, cost, schedule, and ISO13485 regulations.

Key Duties
* Independently complete all animal husbandry and ascites manufacturing assigned tasks adhering to the production schedule and supervisor instructions.
* Perform animal husbandry activities including watering and feeding animals, cleaning cages and water bottles, and providing fresh bedding according to SOPs, batch records, and regulations.
* Monitor animals for their well being and alert lead or supervisor if any discrepancy observed.
* Perform ascites manufacturing tasks including priming and collecting ascites according to SOPs, batch records, and regulations.
* Audit own paperwork daily for corrections, missing, and/or incomplete information.
* Ensure adequate supply of lab reagents, lab auxillary equipment, and cleaning supplies to complete daily assigned activities.
* Retrieve controlled documents from document control software, review procedures, and ensure all equipment, reagents, and materials are available prior to starting daily activities.
* Maintain accurate data sheets, records and logs in compliance with SOPs, OSHA requirements, and quality system requirements.
* Immediately identify any deviation from written production document or SOP to lead or supervisor.
* Assist with interdepartmental needs to insure Lean manufacturing.
* Exhibit excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
* Follow all company guidance, policies, and regulations.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Ability to read, understand, and follow all company production procedures, SOPs and guidelines.
* Must be self-starter, detailed oriented, organized and be able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
* Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality requirements.
* Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
* Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Education and Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent required. No experience necessary.
* Use of the English Language, to include reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension. Ability to work independently, or with others. Ability to respond to common inquiries.
Requirements (Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands):
* Primary work requirements include working in a regulated bioprocessing setting.
* Must be able to routinely lift up to 35-50 lbs. during the course of the work shift.
* Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (face coverings, gloves, lab coats, etc.)
* Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, stoop, reach, push and pull carts throughout the course of the work shift.
* May be required to work outside of normal business hours including evenings and/or weekends to support business needs.
* Must be able to adhere to applicable bio-safety and chemical hygiene practices when on the manufacturing floor or in laboratories.
