General Responsibilities

Please note that while this role has physical duties, it requires a large amount of administrative work - proven skills using an ERP system, or other inventory mgmt system is required.

Accepts and ships by unloading, loading, and verifying shipments.
Determines method of shipment by examining items to be shipped, destination, route, rate and time of shipment. Prepares shipments by packaging, protecting and labeling containers.
Documents items shipped by recording and documenting as required.
Receives shipments by accepting deliveries, unpacking and confirming deliveries. Verifies items received by inspecting condition of items; comparing count/measure of items to purchase order and packing list, noting any discrepancies.
Responsible for inventory control, establish, implement and maintain inventory control spreadsheets, logging lot numbers for incoming products, tracking and keeping physical inventory.
Handle, preserve, segregate, protect and store product in order to prevent damage, contamination or deterioration. FIFO principles are followed and the condition of products in stock is periodically assessed.
Handle and store material in accordance with procedures from receipt through delivery of the final product to the customer.
Maintains shipping and receiving materials by checking stock to determine shipping inventory levels, anticipating needed materials; placing and expediting orders for materials, verifying receipt of materials.
Controls receipt, issuance, storage and handling of products and materials.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing daily shipment needs. Works closely with Directors/Department Managers in coordinating timely delivery.
Monitor all warehousing supplies and participate in regular inventorying activities.
Create Shipping and Receiving SOP's.
Performs all activities in accordance with all required safety guidelines.

Requirements

High school diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
2-3 years' experience in warehouse/shipping/receiving environment.
Experience with MS Office; must be able to perform regular administrative tasks with a high degree of accuracy and proficiency.
Requires a high level of detail orientation.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
A high degree of independent initiative and ability to work in a complex team setting.
Experience with import/export procedures and delivery requirements preferred.
Experience handling hazardous materials.
Must be able to lift and bend frequently; must be able to routinely lift and move up to 50 lbs; capable of working in indoor and outdoor settings.
Ability to work under pressure and deadline oriented.
Dependable, organized, and excellent time management skills are critical.
