BASIC PURPOSE:

The Senior Business Systems Analyst performs functions on highly complex projects and provides guidance to a team of Business Systems Analysts (BSAs) on cross-functional projects and serves as a liaison between the business community and Information Technology. This position elicits and analyzes business needs for highly complex projects, determines the impact and integration of solutions to business processes and systems, and validates that solutions fit within the long-term strategic vision. The Senior Business Systems Analyst ensures that BSA work products conform to quality and content standards, stays current on industry best practices, standards, trends, tools and techniques and collaborates with organizational stakeholders and senior management to establish and implement processes that enhance efficiency, and improve work products for the enterprise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Gather, analyze, and evaluate stakeholder needs and work with the project leadership to define the scope and determine optimal approach to implement.

  • Collaborate with team members including project manager, development lead and business stakeholders in understanding business requirements and implications. Coordinate with them to offer alternative process or system-oriented solutions.

  • Elicit requirements using interviews, data analysis, business process modeling, use cases, scenarios, time motion study, and business workflow analysis.

  • Document & manage requirement changes & their causes through project/product life cycle.

  • Verify, validate and attain approval on gathered requirements.

  • Develop and implement test plans/scenarios. Assist the Quality Services team for system, integration, functional and user acceptance testing of developed applications.

  • Provides implementation services, including application documentation and training, formulation of training/implementation plans, deployment within the business, and handoff to support services.

  • Provides initial post implementation support of newly rolled out applications, troubleshoot issues and provides guidance to end user.

  • Become a subject matter expert on data, system processes and business methodologies.

  • Maintain current working knowledge of research, theories, secure methodologies, and best practices in project management and business analysis. Continually seek to leverage this knowledge to provide unique value throughout project/product lifecycle.
  • Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.



    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years' experience in systems analysis, business analysis or related field.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the field.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles and best practices.

  • Understanding of the agile based Software Development Life Cycle model / secure testing methodologies and creating training materials based on agile principles.

  • Knowledge of project management & BA toolsets like JIRA, MS Project, Visio etc.

  • Business analysis certification is plus, e.g. CBAP.

  • Extensive documentation experience including wireframes, user stories & workflows.

  • Experience mentoring & training Junior BA team members and being a change agent for leaner processes

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills for effective communication to clients and project team members; including prior experience writing white papers, proposals, research reports, articles and case studies.

  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.

  • Experience with interviewing end users, conducting JAD sessions and focus groups by working with product design teams.

  • Agile/Scrum master certification or understanding/proven record of working in this framework.

  • Knowledge of Time & Attendance and Invoicing processes - Preferred, not required

    Understanding of Vendor Management Systems (VMS) - Preferred, not required.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.

  • Excellent analytical skills to implement business process optimization utilizing lean/six sigmaprocess models

  • Ability to create basic SQL statements to extract, analyze for data engineering initiatives

  • Understanding of the end-to-end staffing business.

    • Demonstrated aptitude towards analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to assess relevant facts, identify alternative approaches and supply recommended solutions.
    • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
    • Flexible during times of change.


    Preferred Skills

    • Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, highly competitive environment in a changing industry while maintaining customer focus.
    • Worked on VMS migration projects is preferred
