Job Summary:

The Social Media & Digital Content Specialist is responsible for creating informative, engaging content across digital channels for both City Mattress and Prana Sleep. They manage social media channel posting content and cadence, develop and nurture relationships with influencers in the sleep category, and help define KPIs for content development success. This position reports to the Director of Digital Marketing.


Job Functions and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Works closely with Director and owners to develop channel-by-channel posting cadence and strategies.


• Strong writing and content development skills demonstrated across multiple channels


• Primarily responsible for creating social media content that drives loyalty and engagement and researching/authoring blog posts that appeal, inform and engage.


• Proven planning ability to create strategies, tactics to reach company goals


• Moderate understanding of SEO best practices and a demonstrated ability to improve organic growth. This position will develop content with the guidance of SEO specialists that help identify topics, keywords, and trends for future content with high SEO value.


• Works fluidly with in-house product experts as well as with outside agencies to create creative assets and gather relevant information.


• Monitor user-generated content (i.e. reviews, product discussions, positive/negative sentiment social posts ,etc.) and respond or utilize appropriately.


• Quickly identify and resolve customer issues or complaints if they were surfaced in a digital channel (i.e. on social media, through reviews, etc.). Work directly with customer service or sales teams to help resolve customer issues when needed.


• Actively nurture local community outreach to maintain a strong brand presence.


• Recommends media outlets designed to achieve stated marketing goals.


• Keeps management advised on current digital media trends and incorporate them into channel strategies to keep the brands current.


• Occasionally assists in developing and proofing of digital advertising materials.


• Monitor target audience trends and digital channel usages, identify KPIs for performance, and work with Director of Digital Marketing + leadership team to develop strategies and evaluation criteria for long-term business growth.


Background/Experience Required:


• Bachelor's Degree in related field


• Minimum 2-5 years proven experience as effective social media coordinator or SEO content developer


• Strong attention to detail.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills.


• Strong writing skills demonstrated across multiple channels


• Working knowledge of SEO best practices (position will be supported by SEO specialists - but a basic understanding of SEO is preferred)


• Familiarity with social media scheduling systems (Hootsuite, Buffer, etc.) preferred.


• Familiarity with aggregated review software (Yext, Bazaarvoice, etc.) preferred.


• Needs to be able to work together in a team environment.


• Must be well organized and able to meet deadlines.


• Travel to all markets (Naples, West Palm Beach, Buffalo, Rochester) may be required as needed.
