JOB SUMMARY:

Following established methods and procedures, manages the document control center and testing lab, answer questions and resolves issues on the technical support line, and provides technical & administrative support to the Engineering Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains controlled Engineering documents & procedures and provides timely, accurate releases and distribution of changes.
Maintains Engineering database files to ensure correct revision level documentation for product configuration and control of manufacturing processes. Documents include spreadsheets, drawings, part numbers, project logs, customer drawing files, external document files, and new product development.
Oversees and manages Change Order procedures from conception through release. Includes monitoring, tracking, and reviewing approvals, and timely completion and distribution of ECOs.
Manages ERP part master database and maintains part Bills of Material structure and integrity through established procedures.
Responds timely to customer inquiries for assistance with technical gauge issues, including, but not limited to: applications, performance abnormalities, sender/gauge interfaces, replacement suggestions, and general troubleshooting. Maintains call log database.
Lab duties include data collection, verification, and validation testing.
Completes assigned Engineering projects and uses Engineering software (AutoCAD, Illustrator) to create/revise drawings and dials.
Review Engineering drawings and documentation for procedural accuracy and completeness.
Process minor drawing changes in AutoCAD & Creo.
Creates and updates instruction sheets and troubleshooting literature for existing and new products.
Initiates and processes X-samples relating to assigned projects.
Maintains, monitors and tracks Engineering Action Requests from start to completion.
Interacts and coordinates with other departments and customers to obtain documentation to meet customer requirements.
Provides administrative support, as needed, for all Engineering projects.
Coordinates with various internal departments to implement new gauge assemblies based on new design layouts.
Provides guidance and training on document control processes, procedures, and MRP system, as needed.
Other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Technical school education and 3-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Graphic design training or experience.
Experience in an ISO 9000 environment is helpful.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology.
Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions in English.
Ability to compose business correspondence and memos.
Ability to clearly present information and communicate effectively with customers, clients, coworkers and other members of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, percentage, and to draw, and interpret bar graphs.
Must have a working knowledge of design software including Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Auto-CAD, and Creo basics.
Must be skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
Photography training is sufficient to do product photography.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee may occasionally stoop, kneel and bend and be required to lift or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is in an office setting with standard office lighting, equipment, and a quiet noise level.
