Job description

Gero, Evaul & McCloskey, a full-service accounting firm in Plantation is hiring an Office Manager. This is a full-time, in-office position. This person will work under the guidance of the partners of the firm and must be able to collaborate well with the administrative staff that they oversee.

The following list of responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may expand to include other tasks as necessary:

  • Maintaining the Electronic Filing System and due date system for tax returns and extensions using CCH WorkStream
  • Overseeing tax organizer distribution and engagement letter preparation
  • Filing extensions for individual and business entities, including but not limited to: Individuals, S-Corporations, Partnerships, C-Corporations, Trusts, Various State extensions and forms as needed
  • Providing primary support in the office for CCH Workstream and CCH Axcess
  • Setting up new clients in all systems: CCH Client Manager & ProSystem fx Tax
  • Performing various administrative tasks and projects upon request
  • Responding to client enquiries regarding tax return status and billing
  • Creating invoices, processing credit cards and recording payments
  • Generating monthly retainers and statements for clients
  • Office management including inventory and ordering of office supplies as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years' experience in a similar role in a professional office setting
  • Knowledge of the public accounting industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure within a deadline-driven environment
  • Flexibility to work additional hours during peak periods of the year is required
  • Strong attention to detail with precise follow-through
  • Ability to work independently, but also work well with others
  • Ability to solve problems independently; not deterred by a challenge
  • Strong computer skills and willingness and ability to quickly learn new software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or related experience
  • Prior experience in Tax Administration
  • Software Experience -CCH Axcess and CCH Workstream
  • Bilingual: English & Spanish
