Overview
The Training Manager is responsible for improving the skill set and productivity of the organization's associates. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for associates. This position actively searches, creatively designs, implements and facilitates effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance. This person will focus on workplace learning, service improvement programs, and initiatives to best achieve long-term business success; add value in meeting the hotel's needs by identifying and implementing learning and performance improvement strategies that support the hotel's strategic direction; promotes a continuous learning culture; partners with stakeholders to ensure employees are trained on the needed skills to successfully perform their jobs to attain service excellence.
Responsibilities
* Conducts annual training and development needs assessment.
* Deliver all Hotel training programs, including new hire orientation, train the trainer, customer service standards.
* Deliver and ensure compliance with all training required by both state and federal laws.
* Work with department heads, managers to ensure on the job training, and new hire training programs are successful.
* Helps to implement training and development programs and objectives.
* Creates and /or develops effective training manuals and SOP's for each operational department of the hotel.
* Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for associate development and training events.
* Develops and maintains organizational communications such as intranet bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure associates have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
* Modifies programs as needed.
* Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
* Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff.
* Manage all communication regarding employee recognition programs, events, etc.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong presentation skills.
* Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
* Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
* Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
Education and Experience:
* Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Management degree required.
* Two to three years of experience creating and implementing employee development programs within the hospitality industry.
* Two to three years of Hospitality experience in full-service resorts and/hotels.
* Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) preferred,
* Bi-lingual is preferred.
