Description
This position will Support Human Resources in recruiting and additional responsibilities including, on boarding, job fairs, community involvement, process improvements, and employee required training.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
- Position will be hands-on with recruiting, sourcing, job fairs, on boarding
- Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; maintaining rapport.
- Determines applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications.
- Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements, using newsgroups and job sites, attends job fairs.
- Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements.
- Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules; arranges travel, lodging, and meals; escorting applicant to interviews; arranging tours.
- Evaluates applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers; interviewing applicants on consistent set of qualifications.
- Introduce new hires to the company and walk them through the hiring and training process
- Serve as an employee advocate for new hires as well as established employees
- Complete all new-hire paperwork with candidates who meet the expectation of the job
- Hands-on with any/all HR related topics and/or situations regarding employee engagement.
- Communicates and ensures compliance with various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws and Company programs.
- Follows the FAA guidelines regarding drug testing requirements and background checks
- Carries out various support activities for the department, such as: general filing and document organization, copies, distribution of material to the areas, events organization, research, etc.
- Participates in implementation of activities of HR Programs.
- Prepares correspondence and personnel reports as needed/required.
- Assists with coordination of employee activities and special events.
- Assists with any special projects as required/delegated.
- Assists with other Administrative duties as required as well as provide input on changes to personnel policy/procedure manuals etc.
- Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), FMLA etc.
- Conduct reference and criminal background checks on applicants and schedule interviews for hiring managers.
- Implements employee HR-related action items/plans as needed.
- Supports HR-related training materials/sessions.
Qualifications
Education:
- Desired candidate will have Bachelor's degree in HR or related field.
- Require a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience:
- Prefer 2-4 or years' experience in human resources in a recruiting/staffing role to include sourcing, job fairs, community involvement, on boarding. Analysis and reporting experience helpful.
- Knowledge of HR laws and policies, FMLA, ADA, etc.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Comprehension and understanding of broad practices associated within the field
- Applies these understandings in the completion of moderately complex work assignments.
- Human resources programs, activities, information systems, tools, techniques, and laws (ADA, FMLA, EEOC, FLSA, etc.). Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point. Demonstrated knowledge of HR related concepts and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Prefer a strong administrative background and the ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Strong analytical skills; ability to multitask and prioritize numerous critical tasks
- Knowledge of Paycom a plus
