Job description
Vaco is hiring a Purchasing Specialist located in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Purpose and Scope:
Purchases supplies, materials and parts for the company. Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability. Directs purchasing programs accordingly. Develops and maintains inventory databases for supplies and materials used.
Qualifications:
- Minimum associates degree or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum 5 years purchasing experience
- Minimum 5 years warehouse/distribution experience
Skills:
- Ability to interact in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with SAP Database, reporting and MS Office
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to provide excellent customer care
- Strong vendor negotiating skills
- Proficient in recognizing and maintaining inventory requirements

Job Responsibilities:
1. Negotiates vendor proposals to include, but not limited to pricing, delivery times in accordance to company guidelines.
2. Ensures that all materials, equipment, and supplies are ordered and delivered in a timely manner.
3. Places purchase orders, maintains records and handles returned goods. Selects sources based upon analysis.
4. Routinely reviews inventory levels and maintains minimum requirement quantities "MRQ".
5. Arranges a vendor contract, for approval, negotiate for best costs, and observes quality of purchased materials.
6. Prepares purchase requisitions, transportation and delivery documents.
7. Completes reports of purchasing activities and costs. Verifies order delivery and sends back inaccurate shipments.
8. Verifies or acquires pricing and maintains true vendor costs in system.
9. Responsible to maintain and update landed costs to include product component pricing to include product, packaging, labeling and freight in SAP.
10. Performs activities to monitor and maintain inventory control of merchandise or materials.
11. Evaluates inventory levels and takes appropriate action to acquire necessary products.
12. Works closely with receiving, stocking in addition to inventory control.
13. Plans for future requirements based on order trends, production schedules and sales forecasts.
14. Routinely meets with Sales Management to review sales trends, sales forecast and back-order situations.
15. Collaborates with the Distribution Manager and fulfills all physical inventory and routine spot check inventory.
16. Works closely with accounting on inventory costs and vendor invoices.
17. Performs a variety of duties in support of an organization's import and export activities.
18. Communicates with factory operations regarding routine issues
19. Monitor compliance to all company policies and procedures and support of all company goals.
20. Other duties as required by management.
