About Math Nation

Math Nation is a University of Florida project created in partnership with innovative ed-tech company, Study Edge. Created in June 2012 in response to dismal Algebra End-of-Course testing results (52% of 9th graders failed the required state test), Math Nation has now become a ubiquitous resource for students and teachers across Florida. We are now integrated with every district in Florida. Based on our impact on students and teachers, we are expanding and growing to other states, including Mississippi, Michigan, South Carolina, New York and beyond!

We are looking for energetic and passionate educators who want to be part of this exciting growth and are currently hiring for the role of FLORIDA - STATE LEAD (PD & Content Specialist).

Candidate Qualifications

• Self-starter with strong organizational skills; proven ability to work both independently and cooperatively; willingness to speak up and lead change!
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to thrive in a faced-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Comfort with ambiguity
• Ability to think strategically and analytically with excellent follow through
• Sense of humor and fun - we work hard, but we play hard too!
• Teaching experience preferred, math teaching experience highly preferred
• Willing to work remotely and occasionally work non-standard hours
• Open to travel (mostly in-state)

Position Description

A key function of this position will be to lead content development and professional development in Florida. Willingness to create training videos a plus (we will provide all training!)

• Managing content creation strategy, developing new material, constantly updating and improving resources for Florida teachers and students

• Advocating for Florida educators and students

• Coordinating, scheduling, and delivering professional training for districts and schools, both in-person and virtual

• Assist in the distribution of workbooks to schools and districts and managing follow up with districts.

• Collaborating with tech team to continually improve the digital experience for districts, schools, teachers, and students.

• Serving as point of contact for districts, schools, and teachers

• Other special duties as assigned
