At Weller, we have a key contributor, full-time position available . The Leasing Consultant is responsible for marketing to, selling of the property sites/amenities and engaging with prospective residents in a professional manner to lease units to qualified residents. With a compelling approach and solutions-oriented interaction, matches resident's need to units that are available by interviewing prospects, qualifying residents, conducting tours, responding to questions about the community, overcoming objections and guiding prospects through the leasing process.
This position has a regular schedule that at times may include evenings, nights and weekends . Physical requirements include sitting for long periods and at times required to walk to show units, climb stairs, move about including stooping, bending and other physical requirements as detailed in the job description.
Building a strong cohesive daytime family, this key contributor will apply solid skills and experience in this hands-on role to include:
- Welcomes and engages prospects, residents and guests in person in the office and by answer the phone.
- Prepares and schedules property viewings, conducts property tours and interviews prospective residents.
- Addresses and resolves residents and prospective residents' questions, concerns, and complaints in a timely manner.
- Prepares application packets and maintains an adequate on-hand supply.
- Processes applications, qualifying potential residents, renewing existing residents and creating rental agreements.
- Inspects property conditions and ensures standards on cleanliness are met. Coordinates with maintenance and housekeeping when needed.
- Creates and implements marketing programs to attract new tenants.
- Maintains organized and updated resident files and records.
- Reports any problems or issues to the property manager (or respective Leasing Manager).
- A high school diploma or GED is required; degree preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years property leasing and/or property management experience preferred; required for larger communities.
- New development and/or community lease-up experience preferred.
- Requires reading and writing English fluently; basic mathematical skills required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required; present a positive and professional image.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people and present a positive, professional image.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, with solid administrative and organizational abilities.
- Strong customer service orientation with assertiveness.
- Ability to professionally engage and close a sell.
- Solid computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office Suite to include Teams, Word and Excel. Yardi Property Management Software experience preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass background check and drug testing.
