Job description

Position: Logistics Specialist

Department: Rate and Quoting Departments

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Maintain customer profile information and enter requests from customers into the Freight Quote System

· Update account managers on problem loads and what actions have been taken; update customers on status of bookings

· Work with our vendors to ensure compliance with booking and shipping procedures

· Rate management - Request rates from agents for pending quotations and assist Rate Manager with organization of rates within our Rate Management System

· Ensure all Quote Requests from customers are responded to in a timely manner and complete quotations are provided to customers

· Work closely with the Booking, Rate, and Sales Teams to ensure rates, bookings, and quotations are being followed up with

· Create and implement steps to ensure lower transportation costs while improving lead times and on-time performance.

Qualifications

· High School Diploma or GED required.

· Minimum 1 years related experience required

· Proficient computer skills including basic Excel

· Ability to handle heavy email communication

· Must be well organized and enthusiastic

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and time-management skills

· Must be fluent in English, both verbal and written

· Knowledge of Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, or other languages is a plus

· Experience with Salesforce is a plus

· Experience in Freight Forwarding is a huge plus (Ocean Freight, Air Freight, Customs Brokerage, FTL/LTL)

SCHEDULE: M-F (8-hours per day; Flexible working hours)

Compensation: Salary - $35K to $55K Annual
