Job Summary - Business Analyst II (Product Owner)
Facilitates change through the analysis of key business functions and relationships. Elicit and defines business requirements and translates into functional outcomes for Technology projects. Follows structured analysis approach and modeling while utilizing metrics that enable value measurement. Applicants will be required to engage in ongoing background checks through the duration of this position with continued passing results.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Supports business process analysis.
- Supports team through backlog refinement while following established Agile practices.
- Support collection and analysis of data sets relevant to use cases and business requirements.
- Ensures integration of business processes and systems across technology products and business domains.
- Assists with determining business implications of any proposed changes to various application systems within business unit.
- Provides guidance on business implications of any proposed changes to various application systems within business unit.
- Understands business strategy.
- Provides analytical consulting on low to medium complexity projects.
- Understands measures of success and supports team in achieving success for Technology projects.
- Supports continuous improvement of best practices for Team.
- Understands business needs and how they map to functional outcomes for complex Technology projects.
- Facilitates collection and documentation of business cases, use cases, and test cases.
- Supports conceptual phase of projects to stimulate discussions with stakeholders of business unit.
- Facilitates requirements discussion towards stated business goals for low-medium complexity projects.
- Identifies business impacts and works to resolve scope and boundary issues. Facilitates communication across technical teams and business units.
- Coordinates User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and development of test cases. Tracks defects and ensures defects are addressed correctly. Implements test strategy, and quality assurance with business partners.
- Participates in design reviews and provides feedback for related vendor interactions.
- Balances daily objectives to ensure internal customer support. Incident management, documentation, management escalation, and dependency management.
- Maintains proficiency and technical knowledge by attending educational sessions; reviewing publications; establishing personal networks and meeting with others in area of responsibility. Provides functional consulting and support on end-to-end business process and technical systems' issues as relates to impact on business unit, overall integration, and broad test strategies. Follow best practices around developing and maintaining secure systems.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
- 3 or more years of experience in Business Analysis/Product Ownership
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5 or more years of experience in Business Analysis/Product Ownership
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
- 4 or more years of experience in Business Analysis/Product Ownership in Transportation/Intermodal Operations or Logistics
- Intermediate knowledge of business process modeling
- Analytical skills including process, design, data relationship, functional and technical requirements, and gap analysis
- Ability to lead personnel and teams through IT project execution
- Knowledge of system testing and training skills
- Negotiation skills
- Strong facilitation and team building skills
- Knowledge of the railroading industry
- Intermediate Microsoft Office and Visio skills
- Strong ability to establish rapport and relationships with individuals at all levels internally and externally
- Strategic thinking skills
- Demonstrates proficiency in supporting Technology systems within portfolio
- System testing and training skills
- Research and analysis to elicit common themes from qualitative data
- Working experience in software development collaboration tools
- Preferred experience Atlassian Suite (Jira and Confluence)
- Working experience in data visualization software
- Preferred experience in Tableau
