Position Summary: This Team Lead - Closing position will work on-hands with the VP - Operations, Project Closers, Closing Analysts and Title Policy Analysts in managing and handling all aspects of closing and insuring large, bulk real estate transactions and securitization projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists VP - Operations with the supervision, management, direction, guidance, and training of the new and existing closing team staff.
Develops strategies, processes, and procedures with VP - Operations to be used in closing large real estate and secured financing transactions.
Possesses knowledge of and experience with identifying and resolving title issues and title related exceptions nationwide.
Works closely with Closers and Closing Analysts to gather invoices, prepare settlement statements, draft flow of funds, confirm wire instructions, and assemble and disseminate wire confirmations for large real estate transactions.
Communicates with and manages the Escrow Disbursement Agent for each transaction solving any issues presented during each closing/transaction.
Works closely with Title Analysts and Title Specialists to gather and analyze documents and records to determine and communicate the severity of the issue and assign monetary risk to the company and its clients.
Prepares reports and summary of issues/cases and participates in meetings with internal personnel and clients, as needed.
Identifies gaps in existing policies and procedures, discusses potential changes with VPOperations, and makes any changes, if appropriate.

Strong leadership skills with the ability and experience to manage people
Thorough knowledge of the title insurance and real estate process, including commercial or large bulk, securitization projects.
Customer service oriented while interacting with buyers, sellers, attorneys, brokers, borrowers lenders, and underwriters.
Preferred to be proficient with title and closing production systems (SoftPro or Resware)
Ability to work well under pressure, handle competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Effectiveness as a team player.
Ability to easily prioritize job duties according to the needs of the company.
Strong sense of professionalism and positivity.
Strong professional and interpersonal communication skills verbally and through written electronic correspondence.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or higher from an accredited four-year college or university preferred. Three to five years' related experience and/or training required. At least one year experience in supervisory or team lead role required. Computer Skills: Ability to organize, present and manipulate data in Excel is required. Working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Previous experience with SoftPro or Resware systems preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of their department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Manages a team of two to six in the Portfolio Transactions Closing department.
