Elite Parking is looking for a capable, diligent Financial Controller to manage the accounting operations of the organization, as well as cash management, along with supervising all accounting staff. The position is based in an office setting; however, some travel may be necessary along with occasional weekend or evening work. The Financial Controller must deliver precise information under strict deadlines. The ideal candidate for the financial controller position is bright, attentive, and efficient with self-assurance and the ability to complete work skillfully with little to no direct supervision.

Essential Functions

1. Support - the Financial Controller role is to act as a 'right hand man/woman' to the COO, providing ongoing support and guidance to help ensure the company's plans are viable and in line with financial objectives.

2. Strategy - with expertise in broader thinking, analyze the data collated by other accounting staff to identify opportunities and create robust plans for improving core functions such as pricing, marketing, and remuneration policies.

3. Minimize risk - a Financial Controller is also tasked with identifying risks and assessing any potential impact of industry or trading changes and fluctuations.

4. Investment - whether investing in other areas of your organization to encourage business growth or seeking investment from external sources, as a Financial Controller for Elite Parking you will help to maximize opportunities and ensure that you make informed decisions without taking unnecessary risks.

5. Metrics and reporting - A Financial Controller will drive identification of all the appropriate metrics and accurate reports needed at the outset before any business decisions are made, giving management both the broad overview and in-depth details needed to increase profitability and potential.

6. Financial leadership - A Financial Controller provides leadership across all functions and departmental decisions, giving the COO confidence that any changes or adjustments are based on concrete facts and not just a 'flight of fancy'. The Financial Controller also provide leadership to other members of your financial team, helping to develop their skills and ensure that information is being processed in the most effective and efficient way possible.


Competencies

  1. Should maintain good relationship and communicate frequently regarding business related needs with the COO and Managers.
  2. Must have good decision-making skills with regards to operational decisions by recommending procedural changes etc.
  3. Major responsibilities are Month End Reporting, Payroll, Cost Management Project, Year End Audit, and Forecasting in conjunction with all department managers to ensure smooth running of all financial related aspects.
  4. The check of Statutory and Compliance in the Organization to ensure appropriate standards of legislation and accounting are followed by the organization.
  5. To act as bank signatory, authorize EFT runs, act as online authorizer.
  6. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet operational needs. This may require occasionally working outside of regularly scheduled hours.
  7. The ability to measure and assess staff training needs.
  8. Proficient with Quickbooks, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web-based applications.
  9. Ability to successfully complete Elite's pre-employment assessments.

Required Education and Experience

1. 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred.

2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred.

3. Thorough knowledge of accountancy.

4. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.

5. Superb mathematical skills.

6. Superior verbal and written communication skills.

7. Sufficient interpersonal skills

8. High attention to detail
