Under the umbrella of the LSCU is the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation (SECUF), which is dedicated to serving Alabama and Florida. The SECUF is committed to improving lives by helping credit unions better serve their members and communities with an emphasis on financial literacy, professional development and education, and disaster relief.

Who we are looking for:

A diligent individual who can develop and implement a fundraising strategy for our Southeastern Credit Union Foundation (SECUF). This person will identify and foster key relationship within the credit union industry and will be responsible for achieving the foundation's fundraising goals and engaging donors.

What you'll take ownership of:

  1. Working in conjunction with the Director, Membership Relations to create an annual fundraising plan for the Foundation based on revenue goals.
  2. Directing the overall development efforts of the SECUF to achieve approved annual fundraising goal.
  3. Coordinating the Board of Trustees fundraising efforts; ensuring they meet expectations set forth through their fundraising agreements.
  4. Researching, developing and successfully implementing new fundraising programs for the Foundation.
  5. Working closely with the Marketing and Communications team to develop fundraising collateral material.
  6. Building and expanding relationships with current and potential donors.
  7. Preparing and delivering reports to the Board of Trustees at quarterly board meetings as well as make presentations to credit unions and chapters.
  8. Overseeing the development, maintenance and administration of the Foundation's donor database including designing and running reports and monitoring contributions and funds disbursed.
  9. Assisting with disaster preparedness and recovery efforts as needed.

Need to haves:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Two (2) years of experience of non-profit fundraising.
  3. Maintain working knowledge of laws, regulations and procedures relating to non-profits and fundraising.
  4. Ability to work effectively in a Microsoft Office environment, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  5. Communicating professionally, tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing.
  6. Establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships.
  7. Excellent presentation skills.
  8. Intermediate mathematical skills required (concepts and calculations involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
  9. Professional, well developed interpersonal skills essential for projecting a positive image as representative of the LSCU & Affiliates.
  10. Ability to work effectively with others in a team setting.
  11. Ability to initiative and use sound judgment when making decisions.
  12. Work independently and establish priorities.

Love to haves:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in political science, communications, public administration, or closely related field preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of history, development, and philosophy of credit union movement.

Travel:

  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Airline travel may be required.
