Job description

The Lead Engineer is responsible for leading the equipment group in inspecting, testing and overseeing the production of equipment, as well as, performing extensive and complex repairs and upgrade on equipment issues. The lead engineer should perform job duties including, but not limited to, evaluate, inspect, maintain, design, analyze, and improve various types of manufacturing equipment and machinery in the facility, check the production line regularly, assign work to other equipment employees, and prepare plans for the equipment maintenance, modifications, and upgrades.
KEY REQUIREMENTS & COMTETENCIES:
1.Engineering degree from ABET accredited college or higher, electrical or mechanical engineering majors preferred, Master is desired.
2.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
3.Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
4.Self-motivated with strong organizational/prioritization skills.
5.Proven ability to work effectively under pressure & meet deadlines.
6.Excellent problem solving and project management skills.
7.Ability to be a key technical resource.
8.At least 5 years related working experience and at least 2 years of managerial experience with progressive roles and responsibilities

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Manage the changes in equipment status and major anomalies/corrective actions.
2.Develop improvements to increase equipment reliability and scalability.
3.Monitor equipment performance and provide enhancements.
4.Develop equipment specifications and manuals for current and next generation solar cell products.
5.Maintain documentation for equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
6.Test and approve new equipment before handing off to production.
7.Advance cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and productivity.
8.Conduct and assist in technical training for equipment and production employees.
9.Act as primary contact for equipment performance related issues and concerns.
10.Evaluate procedures, identify potential failures, and establish daily/monthly reporting.
11.Verify Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are adequately prepared to safely and efficiently support maintenance efforts.
