Position Summary: The Senior Commercial Closer will work with the closing department team lead, closing analysts, and VP - Operations in handling all aspects of closing and insuring large, bulk real estate transactions and securitization projects.


Responsibilities:

Works closely with closers and closing analysts to gather invoices, prepare settlement statements, draft flow of funds, confirm wire instructions, and assemble and disseminate wire confirmations for large real estate transactions.

Communicates with and manages the Escrow Disbursement Agent for each transaction solving any issues presented during each closing/transaction.

Prepares reports and summary of issues/cases and participates in meetings with internal personnel and clients, as needed. Identifies gaps in existing policies and procedures, discusses potential changes with VP Operations, and makes any changes, if appropriate.

Maintains Excel reports consisting of large amounts of data to be used in the document data verification process.

Assists with recording fee calculations and calculating transfer or mortgage taxes for conveyances and recording.


Job Requirements:

Knowledge of general, nationwide real estate principles and practices

Familiarity with the types of documents recorded in the chain of title, title search review, and title insurance.

Proficient in various computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel

Effective working relationships with others both within and outside of their team


Qualifications

Attention to detail, research, and analytical abilities

Basic familiarity with nationwide property law and knowledge of terminology and other technical aspects relating to chain of title to property in various states.

Customer service oriented while interacting with buyers, sellers, attorneys, brokers, borrowers lenders, and underwriters

Preferred to be proficient with title and closing production systems (SoftPro or Resware)

Work independently and remain accurate under pressure

A self-starter, highly motivated and goal oriented individual

Organized with a systematic approach to tasks to achieve accuracy and efficiency

High School diploma; some college preferred


Education/Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Some college preferred. 3-5 years' experience in real estate or title industry. Thorough knowledge of general real estate principles and practices. Proficient in various computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel. Experienced in managing multiple projects. Proficient knowledge of title documents, contracts, and policies. Effective working relationships with others both within and outside of their team. Provides products and services of the highest quality, sets quality standards. Evaluating information to determine compliance with standards - using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
